"My experience with NC Mechanical Heating & Air is by far the worst experience I have ever had with an HVAC Contractor. It started in July and the job was not finished until November. Only 5 months to finish a job that should have taken a week ... maybe two. To add to my frustration with NC Mechanical ... the day they finally finished the work ... one of the employees put his foot through my ceiling (they were working in the attic). Two months later I still have a damaged ceiling. The NC Mechanical manager has told me many times he was sending someone to repair it. He never has. He would rather lie to me that fix the damage caused by his employee. After five months of broken promises regarding the original project ... I would caution anyone thinking about using this company. There is more to tell ... and I may continue to list the nightmare that has been my association with NC Mechanical."

For years, Trulane Builders has been providing roofing and exterior services in the Wendell area. We are certified, insured and bonded. Our residential roofing technicians are certified and trained in all the latest roofing techniques and products. This knowledge sets us apart from another fly by night roofing companies who are less educated and take chances with your home. Don't let your roof be their education.

"Lane is a pleasure to work with. He was responsive, professional, and answered all my questions fully. Due to his kind manner, he made it easy to pick his company out of the several I contacted. Most of our communication happened by email and text and he always responded by the following day. His price was fair, not the highest or the lowest, and I am very satisfied with the purchase and the product."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

An attic inspection checklist for inspectors can include many things, like signs of water damage and pest infestation, structural issues, damage to insulation and roof decking, air leaks, opportunities to boost home efficiency, and HVAC duct and air handler inspections. If your attic is finished, your attic inspector might also confirm that all of the work was done according to local building codes to ensure your space is legally finished.

How long the home inspection takes can vary greatly depending on the size of the home and the type of inspections being done—the same goes for receiving the final home inspection report. Some inspectors are busier than others, so it may take a little longer. Generally speaking, however, you can expect to receive the report within 1-2 business days after the inspection.

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.

If your home has a forced-air HVAC system, it will also have HVAC duct parts. Air ducts are connected to an HVAC unit and deliver heated or cooled air to each room; your heating and AC wouldn’t work without ductwork.

However, if your house has a boiler or radiator system for heating and doesn’t have central AC, you probably don’t have ductwork installed.

The difference between an energy auditor and a home inspector is primarily in the purpose of the inspection. The energy auditor conducts tests in your home to determine the energy efficiency levels in areas like windows, insulation, and doorways. The auditor then makes recommendations for ways to improve a home’s energy efficiency

A home inspector examines various structures of your home to determine that everything is up to code and gauge the condition of features like the roof, foundation, HVAC, and electrical. The home inspector reports on the overall home and makes repair recommendations.
