"John Bruner answered the phone and assured me that I wasn't the first person not able to replace a good front door lock combo. He promised to be at my home in 30 minutes, since my front door was wide open and unsecured. John delivered--as promised; installed the new locks within 30 minutes of arrival, so the whole experience took only an hour. He tested the locks and re-routed one strike plate hole to accommodate the new lock. John also offered to recycle my old locks for me with an old metal company! The charges were exactly what John had quoted on the phone, plus he accepted my "5% off" Angie's List coupon on the spot. I couldn't have asked for better service this afternoon when I needed it in a hurry. Thanks for rescuing me before my wife got home! "
"Excellent service and responsiveness from start to finish. Couldn't ask for a more professional experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Goings Safe and Lock for any locksmith work - 110% positive interaction. Arrived right on time, explained what he would be doing before starting, explained anticipated charges after reviewing the needed work, and cut the new keys before leaving."

"Choice responded quickly but the insurance plan does not pay for all doors to be re-keyed unless you have very few locks. The number of locks covered by the insurance is determined by keyholes, not doors! (Read your policy!) You will likely have to shell out some money to have this essential new-home service if you have more than four keyholes. The locksmith they called was EXCELLENT and made all our locks completely functional. We will happily hire the locksmith again (R.L Locksmith LLC). We paid $201.81 (plus another $50 for some door re-alignment not included in the re-keying benefit) and Choice paid $100 for the job."

Locksmiths recommend changing your locks once every seven years for the best security at your home. Locks can wear out over time, so you should inspect your locks regularly. A higher grade lock provides you with more cycles than those with a lower grade.
Security experts recommend deadbolt locks as the most secure option for a house's exterior or entry doors. Deadbolts provide the best security because they can prevent most types of forced entry and are harder to lockpick. Common types include the standard single-cylinder deadbolt, which is often found on front doors. For enhanced security, you can opt for a double-cylinder deadbolt, which requires a key to operate from both the inside and the outside.
There is a reason many commercial garages and storage facilities have roller garage doors. They stand out as one of the most secure options due to their unique design. The compact installation and absence of visible leverage points on the sturdy aluminum curtain make them a formidable obstacle for potential intruders.
You might want to change a door lock entry code for a handful of reasons. The most common answers are extra security or a forgotten code. You may also find yourself in a position where you need to temporarily change the code to allow a guest to come and go freely but want to switch it back once things return to normal.
Using a combination of tools (often store-bought plumbing tools) and brute force, a burglar can easily snap the lock on a door. Snapping a lock aims to gain access to the cylinder inside, which holds the locking mechanism. Once the thief snaps the lock, they can pick the cylinder open and walk right in.
