Arrangements for the project were made, with some one named Lynn, for the company to send someone to complete the work. We were quoted over the phone 4500-5000 which included a mold test. A sub contractor with an entirely different company (National Mold Company) was sent. When the contractor arrived, he stated that the job would be much more simpler than first thought. This led us to believe that the job would cost less, no. All said and done, they charged $5500. All said and done, it's almost like no work was done. The stains and the smell are still there. Only one actual board was taken upon the attic room. The ceiling in the bedroom was primed and painted but are still visible and have a funky smell. At this point I'm going to. Do what we should have done; Do the job ourselves. Just now with $5500 less dollars in our pockets. A detailed receipt was not given even though it was requested."

It is common for mold to grow around air vents, especially in areas with high humidity or moisture problems. These vents provide a perfect environment for mold to thrive due to the condensation caused by the meeting of warm and cool air. Mold growth can be accelerated by the presence of dust and debris around the vents. Regular maintenance, proper ventilation, and addressing any water leaks or excess humidity can prevent the growth of mold around air vents.

Slime mold will go away on its own within a few days to a couple of weeks. Generally, there is no need to use chemicals on this matter. If you want to get rid of it right away, rake over the slime mold and the surrounding area or hose off large patches of it.

Mold loves a moist environment, so the best way to keep it from returning is to keep your machine as dry as possible. Take laundry out of the machine as soon as you can after a cycle finishes. Remove as much water as possible with a shop vac and towels, then use baking soda to help remove moisture deep in the fibers. Always steam clean the carpet or use an antibacterial carpet sanitizer to kill any mold growth.
