"Steam Source is superior all around. The technicians were very professional and arrived early after giving us a call. They worked for nearly 3-4 hours cleaning all that we had asked, including the area rug I had forgotten about. They did a marvelous job getting out as many stains as possible, given that we haven't had carpets or furniture cleaned in probably 20 years! Everything looks brand new and so bright. I can't recommend Steam Source enough and will definitely call them again."

"Our water heater busted, flooding our bedroom, forcing us to move into our baby’s nursery who was due to arrive in just a few short weeks. After fixing the water heater and tearing up the carpet I started making phone calls to many different businesses who were all very monotoned professionals who didn’t give a hoot about our situation. Upon contacting Floor Coverings International I was immediately met with a very personable employee who worked with us and made us feel at ease. The carpet was measured, picked out, and installed within a weeks time giving us enough time to move out of our sons nursery and back into ours before he arrived. We now have a very handsome son and we are so blessed to have had such an amazing company to have worked with. I would give this company a recommendation to every friend and family member I have, they were wonderful."

"David did an outstanding job restoring my wood and vinyl floors. There was a tremendous amount of dirt, stains, and damage, and I never expected the floors to look as good as they did when he finished. The cost was also very fair. He will be my first choice for any future floor work."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.

In order to avoid long-lasting waves, indents, or sticking, it’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after fresh carpet is laid to put weighty furniture on top of it. However, you can begin walking on your new carpet right after it’s installed, and doing so can actually help it adhere to the floor better.

If you have a concrete subfloor, you must secure the carpet padding with adhesive or glue. However, if you have a wooden subfloor, use staples instead. Removing a glued-down carpet can be difficult and time-consuming, so it’s best to avoid glue when possible.

DIY is possible for small areas. Professional installation ensures proper stretching and a polished finish.

The first step in budgeting for carpet is to determine the amount of carpet you need and the type of carpet you want. You might be tempted to opt for the least expensive option if you have a limited budget, but a low-quality carpet won’t last as long as a high-quality one. When accounting for future carpet repair costs, it makes sense to buy the best-quality carpet you can afford.
