"I have never been more satisfied with a cleaning company than I am with Steam Source. The list of services they provide is extensive and exactly what we needed to provide our clients with an extra layer of protection against the spread of COVID. They arrived ahead of schedule, worked very efficiently and were very courteous. They made the entire process so easy and left our 10,000 square foot business in great shape. I highly recommend this company and will look forward to using their services in the future."

"Fast, carpet replacement for the whole house was done for 4 hours. Good value, less expensive than other contenders. Our representative Howard Naylor from Empire was very customer dedicated and professional, we really appreciate it. Highly recommended."

"Our water heater busted, flooding our bedroom, forcing us to move into our baby’s nursery who was due to arrive in just a few short weeks. After fixing the water heater and tearing up the carpet I started making phone calls to many different businesses who were all very monotoned professionals who didn’t give a hoot about our situation. Upon contacting Floor Coverings International I was immediately met with a very personable employee who worked with us and made us feel at ease. The carpet was measured, picked out, and installed within a weeks time giving us enough time to move out of our sons nursery and back into ours before he arrived. We now have a very handsome son and we are so blessed to have had such an amazing company to have worked with. I would give this company a recommendation to every friend and family member I have, they were wonderful."

"David contacted me to schedule for the cleaning and he kept in contact with me verifying the day and time scheduled. On the day of the cleaning he arrived right on time and got straight to work. My carpets were in bad shape. There were many stains. My furniture cushions were terrible to look at because of their stains, and yet David managed to get all of the stains out. I am above and beyond happy with his work. He is very polite and personable as well. On a score of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest, without hesitation I would give him a 10."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Avoid placing carpet in the bathroom or the kitchen. After all, moisture is no friend to carpeting. Beyond that, it’s down to personal preference. Some people dislike when a garage or basement features carpet, but others enjoy it.

There are a couple of color options to consider when installing carpet in high-traffic areas (like entrances and stairways). Medium-toned colors and patterned carpets can work well in these parts of your home because dirt and stains can blend in easily. Dark carpets will also conceal marks and spills, but they show lint and other light-colored debris. Consider a medium brown or tan for your high-traffic areas. Either way, it’s best to avoid paler shades, like white and cream, which get dirty easily.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

Yes, professional installation services often include the removal and disposal of old flooring, which can include materials like carpet. This process may also involve preparing the subfloor for the new installation. It is recommended to confirm the full scope of the service with your provider.

It’s a good idea to install a rug pad under the carpet for your stairs. To make the pad fit, you’ll need to cut one section for each stair tread that’s about one inch narrower than the stair runner so that it won’t be visible once the carpet is installed on top.
