"Chris and Ray arrived promptly on the day of service and got to work immediately. They were very courteous and quickly figured out what needed to be done to remove our old 50 gallon water heater and replace it with a new Rinnai tankless water heater. They did a great job with the install and even simplified some of our previous pipe layout that seemed needless complicated. The heater works great and is way quieter than I expected. In addition to the water heater, they also installed a whole house water filter, making sure the filters can be easily isolated with shut off valves for future maintenance. When the water pressure seemed a little low, they were able to tweak our pressure valve regulator so that the pressure to our faucets is now better than they were before the water filter was installed. Chris and Ray did a great job explaining the system to me and testing it to my satisfaction. They removed the old water tank and cleaned everything up. An overall terrific experience."

"Kevan & Drew at Drain Designs were fantastic! First let me say it was refreshing too actually, have someone respond and follow up to a call. I had called several companies/persons but none either responded back or showed up for their appointment. So, I was a pleasantly surprised when Kevan responded to my voicemail and showed up for the scheduled appointment. Water was leaking into my back room from underneath the deck and creating issues. Kevan came out and assessed the problem and devised a solution. Kevan & Drew showed up as assured. The process was explained every step of the way, so I had a very clear understanding of what was being done and why. Both Kevan & Drew were professional, and their work is quality work. "I had a clogged washer drainpipe. One company could not fix it. Another company wanted $3,100 to replace 3 feet of pipe and remove the clog. Cary Plumbing came out, cleared the clog, tested it twice and the price was very fair! He also noticed one of the hoses to my washer was leaking and he replace it. I trust them and highly recommend them!"

"The installation went very well. Kevin and I reviewed the work that I wanted done from the estimate that he had given me previously. After review we made some modifications to the plan and then the real work got started. The Vortex team went about their work in a very professional manner. They removed the old and very clogged up existing drain line, being careful to avoid an electrical wiring conduit and my water supply line. A 12" pvc drainage basin was installed along with enough 4" pvc pipe to reach into the natural area beyond the nearest edge of my yard. Some of the dug out rock was used to provide protection to the exposed end of the pipe. Two of the gutter downspouts from my porch were tied into the system to help move that water away from the house as well. After the trench was filled in, grass seed and hay were spread in the trenched areas. Finally, the drain was tested with a water hose to verify that water would indeed drain out. To install the new basin and drain pipe, they had to disturb a small flower bed. I did not expect them to fix this, but they did, including reshaping the border bricks to fit around the new larger drain basin. As far as I'm concerned, this was going above and beyond in the customer service department. I very much appreciated this added touch!"

"Our yard improvement was a total disappointment. The VP of the company came out to review the job in person. We were looking to add sprinklers to our backyard and aerate and seed our lawn. The review of the job was well presented with a good plan. The job was scheduled to be complete in 1 1/2 days. All seemed good. When the installation crew arrived, they had a completely different plan. They pretty much did whatever was easiest for them. In doing so, they damaged so many areas of the existing system that it was no longer operational. They damaged our septic system and tried to cover it up. The septic area was not marked but the original plan stayed away from that system. All work was done in sloppy manner. Clean up almost non-existent. The seeding was terrible. I have great big bare spots. When they completed the job 30 days later. I asked them to test the system and of course it didn’t even work. They had to rerun wire they had cut. This job was a disaster. Management didn’t care."

They got it done in the anticipated duration and were very knowledgeable. I typically get them to come out early in the season to check everything out and make sure everything is operating correctly. "At best incompetent, at worst dishonest. This is a saga but if you need help with leak detection, you should read this before calling roto rooter. We were notified that we had high water usage by the town. We called roto rooter on a Monday afternoon for leak detection. They said they would call back in an hour. They did not. We called them, they asked us to wait a bit longer. Sure, no problem. Finally they call at 7 PM and say they couldn't fit us in and schedule us for the next day, 3-7 PM. We are unhappy but understand the world is understaffed and look forward to some answers the next day. The next day I get a call from the technician letting us know that he would be there from 6-7. Great! Then we get a call at 6:30 letting us know he is 45 minutes out according to GPS. Not ideal, but still fine. Unfortunately, Courtland must have gotten lost for 45 more minutes despite his GPS and doesn't show up until 8 PM. We had already called dispatch to cancel because we needed to put our kids to bed, but that message did not get to him. He's here though, so we let him do the job. He says there is water in the crawl space, recommends digging up the line in the front yard and quotes us $4200. Yikes! Because the vibes were off, I called for a second opinion Wednesday morning. They show up as scheduled on the same day. To my surprise, the technician tells me there is no water under the house. He explains to me how to read the meter and shows me that the meter says 0 gallons of water are being used per minute, indicating no leak. However, the usage goes up periodically, indicating a running toilet. We discover the toilet upstairs needs to be replaced. The repair (including the new toilet) is 1/6 of the cost we were quoted by roto rooter. Now here is the kicker. Courtland's card indicates he is the Excavation Sales Supervisor. I'm pretty certain he was trying to upsell us to have the yard excavated, hoping we would never look under the house to verify his claims. So, not only was he incredibly late and inconsiderate of our time but he was also either incredibly incompetent and didn't even check the meter or he just straight up lied. Either way I will never trust Roto Rooter with my business again since this is the kind of person they employ and apparently promote to supervisory roles."
