"Hired a professional to install 2 hand rails for my parents. One was installed on the front porch brick steps and one on the back porch brick steps. They arrived on time, installed both handrails quickly and safely. Handrails are sturdy, and now my parents lives are that much safer. Would recommend."

"I would highly recommend this business.  We had them come and restain the deck and at first just powerwash the house.  They scheduled the work right away.  After doing the pressure washing, there were some areas with paint chips under the soffit.  Mike offered to repaint those for free.  During this, they noticed areas of the soffit that were rotten, so we had them repair those areas of the wood.  They also fixed a few screens that were damaged during the pressure washing for free.
Everything turned out great, and we are very happy we had this work done.  Mike and Crystal are very professional and easy to work with.  I will be having them do some more work on our house in the near future.

I'm a flooring, renovation and property maintenance contractor. I've been self employed for 25 years and in the trades for over 30 years. The only thing I don't do is major plumbing and heating and electrical, I do everything else inside and out of a home. I have excellent references, I'm also new to the area. I mostly do kitchen and bathroom renovations these days. Outside in the warmer months, decks/siding/windows/doors, e.t.c. \nI'm easily in the million s.q.f.t. club in hard surface flooring (tile and wood), well over 150 custom tiled showers. Building/apartment maintenance certificate, handyman services, e.t.c. Visit our website Rhflooringandremodeling.com\n

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

While it’s never too early to start planning for a major home improvement project like a home addition, give yourself at least a month or two to plan and design your addition, find a contractor, and get the permits in order. For larger projects like a second-story addition that require designing with an architect, plan on three to four months of preparation.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.

Yes, you can finance cottage construction through several options. Construction loans provide funds in stages as work progresses, while home equity loans or lines of credit are available if you have existing property. Some lenders offer a combined construction and permanent mortgage. Always review loan terms and payment milestones before committing.

Costs depend on material, size, design complexity, and additional features like lighting or seating.

When conducting space planning, building codes and regulations need to be considered. As long as you are taking them into account and discussing them with the architect, you should be able to do your space planning appropriately.
