"Thank You for your response, it was our pleasure to work with you to get your project completed. The direction from you was very helpful, good communication is the key to any successful project! We sincerely thank you for your business. Working with you folks was a pleasure!"
"The Estimate was approximately $8,500 plus 15% Profit and overhead which was discussed with husband, would equal $$9,800. The changes requested by the client, which I will detail, brought the final bill to $12,998, hardly "significant". The client added several items. These included: Altering the septic tank cover to accommodate a 4' walkway, originally client requested 3' which added additional permitting cost and inspections. The step from the house to hot tub was changed to a landing. The HVAC contractors bill increased because of unforeseen complications with moving the existing HVAC unit. A door was added to replace a window, this involves carpentry work and job materials like the door, hardware, trim...... added a light fixture by the new door and a light switch, and a new GFI plug, all doubled the electricians bill. These were not in this picture mentioned. We applied for all local permits, worked with the County through this horrible Coronavirus obtaining permits. We are licensed by the state of NC, carry 1 million dollars insurance to cover any accidents at the job site, including Workman's Comp. I have been a successful contractor for over 30 years. A new hot tub, deck, move HVAC unit because of noise, cement walkways, new door for access to the area, licensed electricians on site, fully licensed and insured up to $1 Million dollar at $12,998? I think people will be standing in line for this deal. Our company never ask for any money up front, paid all bills, billed the client at the end of the job, with an understanding we would be paid at the time the bill was presented. We had to wait til the next day and drive to the site again to get paid. We totally DISAGREE with this review by his wife, who I rarely saw! Not sure about the alcohol comment except to further disparage our company and me personally?? However, anytime husband, who is a nice man, and I discussed processes for how to proceed it was always, "Let me see what she says", I thought well.....? I truly felt sorry for the guy!"
"We have refuted this response on several occasions, not sure why it is not shown here. I ask that Angie's List please look into this but have not heard from Angie's List other than to say they are reviewing it. That was more than a year ago. Very Happy that the effort to harm our company was unsuccessful as Angie's List clients contact us every week for help with their projects. Most of our clients are local and we get them via word of mouth. Our company has been in business in Chatham County NC for many years, and we stay busy helping folks, as our great reputation proceeds us!"
"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for your nice review, we enjoyed working with you. Your project turned out so beautiful! Target Building Solutions Mike Wall"
"This review is unwarranted in our opinion! This customer threatened us in advance, if we didn't lower the bill. This was taken from their email, "will be described in detail on social media as well as on Angie's List, If you cannot wait a few days for the check and want to go to court, have at it". This is the tone we have been dealing with for months now. We started the project in September, after reaching an agreed upon estimate of over $36K. We applied for and received all proper permitting, and started the work. We hired all the subs and supplied some of the workers that are on our payroll. We provide a 2 Million dollar umbrella policy to cover all workers and the property owner. We are licensed with the state of NC as a General Contractor, Mike Wall is the owner of the company and the daily contractor on all our job sites. We also provided our Bobcat, and provided transportation for it and the workers. There were several weather related delays, including hurricane Matthew. Our client emailed us daily with his instructions of how he wanted things done, these were long detailed.......................emails . We tried to respond to as many as possible, but were overwhelmed by the sheer volume, as we have other projects going at the same time. We finished the project by Thanksgiving, and removed all our work materials and the Porta Potty. Any remaining work was more punch list, which we finished completely and to industry standards. We started billing them for the final bill the first January following the holidays. At this time the emails increased even more, asking for more details on every itemized charge we had given. We spent 2 plus hours on 2 separate Sunday afternoons trying to respond in lengthy details. None of that worked, only more emails, requesting more details on charges that had already been addressed in detail. After 30 days of not receiving our pay, and more request for more details, we decided that this was their [Member Information Removed] of negotiating the bill down, even though we were $5,000 below the original estimate. So at that time, we emailed them and said we want our payment please! We even tried to appeal to their sense of fairness by saying we are a small company, and a balance of $10K owed more than 30 days after billing is tough. We were very sad that it had come to the point where we had to give a ultimatum to get paid, but at this point we believed wholeheartedly that they were trying to avoid paying us, based on his emails eluding to, amend the bill to a zero balance, and that they were on a limited income, his wife is an artist......................................... The only recourse a builder has legally is to lien the property, we did not see another avenue to get our money. It is our hope that our many A ratings with Angie's list will prove that we are a reputable company, that has provided quality work for 25 plus years. My wife and I run the business, it is our livelihood, we are good tax paying citizens, that appreciates all of our clients. Thank You Mike Wall Jo Ann Beal"
