"If there was a word better than amazing, that is the word I use to describe working with Duane Knight, the owner of UBuiltit. We live in Michigan and found a beautiful lot on a beautiful lake that we just had to have. The downside was the house on that lot was, to put it nicely, a dump! We brought Duane to our site, talked over the vision and the rest is history! He managed the process from start to finish. From tearing the previous “dump” down to celebrating with us as we moved in. Duane let me be as involved as I wanted to be, which was my absolute favorite part. He let me meet the contractors and be apart of the whole process. He was responsive to my thoughts and ideas but also added his input when needed. He restrained us (budget wise) when needed but let us be creative in other ways. He was on site everyday and taught us so many things about the building process as we were first time home builders. He is a family man with great values and morals. I would not recommend anyone BUT Duane and UBuildIt!"

"The actual roofing job in 2014 went fine. We were pleased with the initial work and the price. However, the company’s follow up is sorely lacking. They responded when we had a concern about some of the new roofing within a couple of weeks. Our second issue it took much longer to get a response from them. Now in 2019, we have been trying to get them to come and check out our roof for hail damage. We can’t get anyone to call us. Just some texts and passing off of responsibility. Their customer service is poor."

"Last Tuesday (Nov 24th) I was out of the country and my wife woke up to a cold downstairs. Since Yellow Dot was the original installer of the two Trane units, she called the YD office and David came out later that day and sold her $800+ of repairs and PM contracts. He said the work was not finished and needed another part and the office would call her the next day. That did not happen but the furnace was putting out heat. This morning (Friday) the furnace was doing the same thing as before, fan running and no heat.

I called their office twice for a total of an hour and I got their on-hold music and repeating message about how wonderful they are and to hang on for someone to help me and then the line dropped on the second call. I called back a third time not selecting from the menu to see what would happen and I was then given the opportunity to leave a message. I did so at about 10AM today. No call back so I presume they were closed. Finally around 4PM I found the name of the service manager and emailed him. He called within a half-hour and said the answering service should have gotten them the message so something was wrong with their systems. The tech called right after that and noted he had gotten no "on-call" messages from the service and thought that maybe all was well. We arranged to have him come out in the AM as this was not a serious situation with the temps being pretty mild.

So far this is not good and now I am suspect of Trane as well. This same board went bad when it was 3 months old 6.5 years ago. I will update with the conclusion.

UPDATE: Friday, November 27th, Steve came out and tried to "fit" a board into the downstairs furnace with no success.

UPDATE: Monday November 30th, David came out and installed new circuit board in the downstairs unit and it now works.

Conclusion: Seems like much of this 6 day drama could have been prevented if their answering service had not failed them. End of the day, in a service business, if you out-source your customer contact point you might suffer no matter your good intentions.

Matt, Steve and David are VERY customer oriented and capable and for their attitude and focus I have upgraded the overall grade since once they were aware of the issue, they reacted quickly. I hope they get their service provider problems squared away."
