He did not suggest relaying rows of bricks, which would have been much more expensive and was not necessary in his estimation. They grinded and tuckpointed the upper portions of two chimneys and repaired cracks and openings in both crowns. They used a small boon that still extended 25-30 feet high, which allowed them to do the work in one day.
