"I have used The Maids for about 3 years.  I have usually had good experiences.  It usually depends on the crew so some cleanings are better than others.  Recently, my husband and I have noticed that we have gouges in our wall, nicks in our paint and wood work and furniture.  I also found a picture that had no glass in the frame.  Apparently, it was broken tossed and not reported.  Yesterday, was the final straw.  I always call to ask what time to expect them.  I was told between 11;30 and 12:15.  They arrived after 1:30.  I left to run errands.  When I returned, a plate that my son had made for me (that sat on top of the fridge) was shattered on the floor.  I asked the girl about it and she said "Oh, that fell off."  I asked her if she saw it up there and she said NO.  I asked if she looked and she said NO.  I then turned to look in the dining room and saw the girl with the vacuum banging repeatedly into my furniture with her vacuum.  Well, that explains my nicks and chunks.  I called the office and they really didn't care much.  They did ask if they could replace the plate and I said No, it was made by my son.  Anyway, spent the evening looking at my furniture and it is all nicked up.  I think the company wants these gals in and out of your house quickly so they can clean lots more houses.  Use at your own risk!

"I am extremely impressed with the service provided by prestige cleaning solutions. The team was professional, punctual and pay attention to every detail. My home look and smell amazing when they were finished, they went above and beyond to assure everything was spotless, including the areas they often overlook their communication skills were excellent, and they treated me like family. They didn?t judge, but was willing to help me solve the problem."

"Overall did very well.  One PROBLEM though (resulting in the B for Professionalism) was that they left spots of their cleaner on hardwood floors adjacent to carpet being cleaned and they left a three foot wide wet spot in a hall that dried up leaving a ton of dust that we vacuumed up.  Overall though, an A performance."

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

You can mop bamboo floors, but exercise caution to protect the material from excess moisture, which can seep into the bamboo, causing it to warp and well. Moisten a microfiber mop and wring it out until it’s just damp, or use a pH-neutral cleaner, as this will prevent damage to the bamboo fibers. Avoid harsh chemicals, like traditional floor cleaners. After cleaning, wipe the floor dry.

While every professional home cleaner will have their own preference, most will use a commercial floor cleaner specifically manufactured for laminate floors. They will also use a vacuum or microfiber cloth to remove loose grit before breaking out the mop. Some cleaners will also make a final pass with a dry and clean cloth to dry your laminate floors for a smooth shine.

You can regularly clean your Marmoleum® flooring by sweeping, vacuuming, and damp mopping with a neutral cleaner. Avoid using highly abrasive materials or high-pH cleaners to prevent cracking, warping, or discoloration, and never wet mop, as heavy water exposure can damage the floors. Marmoleum® floors have a topcoat called TopShield preinstalled, so you do not need to polish them.

Yes, you can polish an existing concrete floor—as long as the slab is structurally sound and in good shape. In fact, that’s what makes this type of flooring upgrade so appealing. Polishing works best on bare concrete with minimal surface damage, although you can usually repair cracks and stains before the grinding and buffing begins. Instead of ripping out your existing concrete floor, polishing it can turn it into a high-shine showpiece that’s both practical and sleek.

Before starting on a full refinishing project, determine if your floors need to be completely sanded down to the bare wood or if the damage is shallow and mostly cosmetic. Deep scratches and gouges will require you to rough sand using a drum sander or belt sander, but small surface scratches or floors that have only lost their luster don’t need a complete overhaul. Instead, you can skip the rough sanding step and sand-screen the old finish with a buffer, removing only the top layer of polyurethane.
