"I needed help with a minisplit install, and David was on top of it. He had all the required tools, and was a huge help in getting it installed and ready for the electrician. A+"
First off, the salesman Russell was great. Very knowledgeable and informed on all aspects of what he was doing. I explained his was the first of three bids I was planning to get and he didn't get pushy. He did still try to close the sale on our first meeting but that's his job. He was also easy to contact and prompt to return calls. After talking to him for a while you start to wonder why in the world is this guy selling windows?! (Not knocking window salesmen) An interesting guy and a big part of the reason I chose Window World.
Next, the windows. I'm not a home improvement type person, but they seem to me to be very good quality for the price and are a huge improvement over the old 1970's era wooden single pane windows I had. I could immediately tell a huge difference in how they keep the wind and cold out. Several of my friends in the construction industry were very impressed with the build and quality when I showed them. Time will tell further, but based on what I see, and lots of research, they are a huge step above basic builder grade quality.
Last, the installation. The windows arrived ahead of plan and installation was scheduled quick and easy. They guys called when they were on the way and arrived on time. Overall everything went well. I did ask them to re caulk one of the windows as the bead was pretty ugly and got dirt in it. They took care of it right away. I later noticed one of the screens had a tear in it and they came back promptly and took care of it. Based on my experience, I expect to get good service in the future if needed.
A few small problems. One of the installers was standing on my front porch smoking. I believe you should ask the customer first if that's OK. I did politely ask him not to smoke. I guess I should have also asked him not to leave cigarette butts in my driveway. When they took the windows off the truck, a bunch of broken glass fell off and was left on my driveway. Per their paperwork, a normal amount of post construction clean up is the customer's responsibility but broken glass covering the width of my driveway is beyond normal post construction clean up. I didn't notice that until a few hours later so I just cleaned it up myself but I did contact the project manager and let him know about those issues. Another thing, as noted on their paperwork, they are not responsible for damage to shrubs or landscaping. I pointed out a particular shrub to the installer and they said no problem, they could work around it, but it was stepped on and destroyed.
As I stated though, I consider these to be small problems and will be purchasing more windows from Window World in the future and would recommend them.
"Miguel,Sam,and Tre were very professional. The entire process was explained and my questions were all answered. Miguel contacted the owner for consultation throughout the process. Intellijacks look great and we can now close our bathroom door. The job was cleaned up showing they cared! Will be calling them again for a dranage job!"
"In addition to replacing my garage door opener, Bobby installed new ceiling lighting and replaced two lighting fixtures. He is a consummate, trustworthy professional, and I recommend him highly without hesitation."
"Contractor left a large paint sprayer in our garage for 4 months while the house was rented by vacationing guests. (the house is a vacation rental home.) I had to point out to contractor that they painted over a fungus that was growing on house siding, instead of properly cleaning/removing this prior to painting. They painted over the lights on the exterior of the house instead of removing prior to painting. Contract stated that soffit vents were to be installed on both sides of the house. Contractor only installed soffit vents on one side of the house and did not inform me of this. I paid contractor in full ($14,258.00) and found out later that the soffit vents were not installed on both sides of house. December 7, 2015, I informed contractor I wanted him to install the missing soffit vents and needed the roof warranty paperwork. Contractor told me he would send me the paperwork for the roof warranty. We still have not received the roof warranty. Jan 6, 2016 he responded to my request saying he would install the missing soffit vents, he still has not completed the work. I have not heard from him since and have not received the roof warranty. His phone has been disconected, voice mailboxes are full on other phone lines he has. We have texted, emailed and called he refuses to return any form of contact. We have been forced to contact the roofing supplier ourselves in an attempt to obtain our rightfull warranty. We are not sure if they will be able to link the contractor to our roof. Plus our contract included a 10 year warranty on the workmanship and the company won't even respond to our requests to just finish the job they were paid for. I can only imagine trying to get them to stand by their workmanship warranty. "
"Mr. Ferrell first connected his computer to my computer via internet and worked for quite a few hours trying to determine what exactly was wrong. The next day he continued working from his computer for several hours. He determined he would have to have my desktop tower to complete the repair. He and my son met in Huntsville to exchange the tower. He then cleaned up a lot of what was wrong and reloaded Windows 10. He deleted the D: drive which had way too much memory allotted to it. The tower was returned and I plugged it all back together and it is working better than it did when I first purchased it. I would use him again and I recommend him highly to anyone needing computer updating and/or repair. His work is warrantied and he is very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful."
"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."
"I had some siding repair work that needed to be done. Mike and his crew did a great job. I would definitely recommend them to for any siding project."
Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts
Most window screens last for about 10 to 12 years, assuming they are made from quality materials and receive proper care. The lifespan of common materials like fiberglass and aluminum can vary based on weather exposure, as constant sun or harsh winters can accelerate wear and tear. Regular cleaning and basic maintenance can help extend their life. Signs that a screen needs to be replaced include rips, tears, brittle or sagging material, fading, or a bent frame. While small tears can often be repaired, larger areas of damage typically mean it's time to replace the entire screen.
Most solar screens last 10 to 15 years, depending on the material quality, exposure to weather, and the level of maintenance. High-quality materials and regular cleaning can extend their lifespan, while harsh climates or neglect may shorten it. Routine cleaning, inspecting for damage, and avoiding harsh cleaners can help extend the lifespan of your screens.
Yes, you can fix windows without replacing them. However, this will depend on the severity of the issue and what your needs are. Minor water damage, broken glass, damaged casing, and worn caulking are usually easy repairs. But if there is excessive damage, the windows are constantly foggy, or the windows are very old, it’s best to consider replacing them. Replacement windows cost between $575 and $1,475 per window, or an average of $850 per window.
Pet-resistant, vinyl-coated polyester is one of the strongest window screen materials available, with some manufacturers touting a 7x increase in strength compared to standard fiberglass screens. Stainless steel security screens are also extremely strong, but they’re not suitable for coastal areas due to the risk of corrosion from salty sea air. If sea air isn’t a concern, stainless steel is extremely tough.
You can trim an overhead garage door screen to fit your garage door opening. This is a particularly helpful hack if you have an irregularly sized garage door opening but are still interested in installing a garage door screen to keep pests and debris out. Trim the garage door screen carefully to avoid unsightly edges or an uneven fit.
