"Thank you [Member Name Removed] it was our pleasure"
"Sorry, your experience with the door was not good. We did contact the crew when you made us aware they were not showing up, and did let the crew know it was not acceptable to not take care of their service requests."
"Thank you for the positive review, it was a pleasure doing your project!"
"We did not perform any work for this customer he had a job that was something our company does not do. We will not accept a job unless we know we can perform the work to the customers satisfaction."
He accidentally left a sample at my house, and the day after he retrieved it, I received an email that simply said
"As we discussed replacing the two windows with Pella encompass series vinyl windows and tearing off the siding around the area where you have a leak, ensuring proper flashing and reinstallation of siding plus any new parts that we need to supply would be a grand total of 1443."
I expected to receive a detailed proposal similar to the ones I received from the other three businesses, but that never arrived.
The other companies from whom we received estimates all pointed out that our siding had not been installed properly. They pointed out missing parts & recommended that all of the siding on the back of the house be removed, all of the walls checked for damage due to the improper installation that exposed the walls to potential water damage. Jim had said nothing about that. I asked two of the other companies about whether installing energy-efficient windows would be tax deductible, and they said that the government was no longer doing that particular deduction. I still haven't found out which is the right answer.
Then about 2 weeks later, a woman with the company called to ask if the work had been done yet. I told her no, and that I was still waiting for the estimate. She told me that she would make sure I received it, but also that their window manufacturer had some special discounts going on, and asked if Jim could come back to go over them with me and my husband. I said sure, and scheduled the visit for a time when my husband would be home.
But Jim wasn't there to show us new options or talk about the special discounts. He was there assuming that my husband's presence would mean we would make a decision on the spot. When I asked about the 'special discounts' mentioned to me on the phone, he made an oddly condescending comment like "sure, you discounts, don't you?" and said they could drop the price to $1400.
When we asked what it would cost to also add some insulation to the walls before the siding was replaced, he said that was 'included'. Then I asked if he could give us the prices for three different styles of window for one of the windows being replaced, and he again made a vague promise that 'any window you want is included'. But we had no details of what that $1400 actually did include. No scope of work detailed, no materials detailed, nothing.
Then he wanted to know if we had 'decided'. We told him no, certainly not tonight. We told him we needed to see his full estimate in order to compare. He wanted to know if it was just price we were comparing... I told him no, we wanted to be able to compare 'apples to apples' by taking a look at what each company suggested, and their prices for their work and materials. When he left, we again asked for him to send us the complete, detailed estimate. We never received one. Right after he left, my husband said it seemed like he just came by to meet with 'the man of the house', expecting him to make an on-the-spot decision that 'the little woman' could not.
A few weeks later, I again received a call from a woman at the company. At that point, my husband and I were annoyed, I told her we had requested a written estimate multiple times, without receiving one, and that it appeared that the second visit to 'go over special discounts' was actually an attempt to meet with the 'man of the house'. I told her not to bother having an estimate sent because after that experience we certainly were not going to use their company.
I was really surprised by the experience because I expected much better from a company rated "A" on Angie's list.
"Estimate was $1400.00 but still no cost to this client as they did not sign a contract. They did receive a free estimate and I am truly sorry that it didn't compare to other estimates that they have. But that is still no reason for the grade given."
This is a revised post. I contracted with Siding Repair Systems (headquartered in O’Fallon, MO) in June 2015 for the removal and replacement of the wood siding on my two story house with James Hardie Siding (8" Hardie Lap Color +). The estimate was for 2458 square feet of siding, 330 feet of soffit/fascia and 235 feet of 5" gutters and downspouts. Mr. Cory Feco, principal/owner, met with me to provide contract and cost details in late June 2015 prior to signing the contract. The installation window specified in the contract was a starting date NLT August 15 and a completion date NLT Sept 21. The contracted cost of the job was just under $ 26,000 and a $ 1,000 deposit was provided to get the job scheduled. The contract specified a payment of 20% upon material delivery, a payment of 30% at halfway completion and the balance upon satisfactory completion of the job.
Siding Repair Systems called on Friday, August 21 and said that a crew would show up to begin the work on Monday, August 24. The crew showed up on August 24. Branch Manager Paul Dickens reviewed the work plan with me that morning. The siding materials were delivered that afternoon. The crew immediately commenced removal of the old siding. Project Coordinator Cash Stricker showed up that afternoon to check in and see how the work was proceeding.
The crew was diligent in their work. They showed up promptly every morning, worked hard and kept the jobsite (my yard) relatively clean and organized. The attention showed by Branch Manager Paul Dickens and Project Coordinator Cash Stricker during the prosecution of the work was timely, appropriate and appreciated.
The only detract was that about a week after completion of the fascia/trim painting, I noted exposed (unpainted) wood on the soffit above my garage. I called Branch Manager Paul Dickens and left a voice mail about this issue. Mr. Dickens did not returned my call. I also mentioned this issue to Mr. Stricker and he said that he would get back to me. He never got back to me. This unpainted soffit issue remains unresolved. My take-away is to be sure that a thorough final inspection is performed and that all issues have been resolved before final payment is made. I would certainly use this company again but would delay final payment until all outstanding issues have been resolved.
When I signed the contract, I was promised to install in 6 weeks. But after the 8 weeks, the company called me on 11/3 and told me that they will come to install it on 11/5 (Thursday). I asked what time they will come. They said 7 to 8 am. So I took one day off from work and waited for them to come. Around 8:45am, nobody showed up. So I called the company (production manager), I was told that they cannot come on that day. I was so surprised that nobody told me when they changed the schedule. It was delayed because they have not finished other projects. And it was delayed by a few more days and finally completed on the following week. On the first day they came to install, when I got home, I found I had power outrage in my garage and I could not open the garage door. So on the morning of the second day, I had to wait at home and had them to fix the power. After they completed the work, the final waiver of lien showed the work that has been done on my house is "Patio doors and storm doors install". I requested a new final waiver of lien, not sure whether they will do it.
I will not use this company again and will not recommend to other.s

I would recommend this company without any hesitation.
