"Great company for a floor install. I was very pleased with how the installers conducted themselves while on the premises of my home. Price was great, and Paul, the owner, was always available if I had any questions. If you ever decide to have hardwood floors installed at a reasonable price, and great quality work....check them out."

"Colin did a fantastic job replacing a tile floor in our master bathroom. The job required removal of existing tiles and replacing the backing subfloor. Everything was done within the expected budget and time frame. We would call on them again for ourr next tiling pro."

"Our salesman, Nathan was very informative and helpful through our whole project. Erica kept us informed about installing schedule. Even with delays, Erica made sure I had the latest information and never hesitate to call. Our installer for the shower was very polite and made sure he had all supplies. He installed the shower in one day. The counter top was installed three days later. The installer was polite and even came up with solutions when the installed plumbing needed adjustments."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

If the hearth ends against a wall, you can use a tile cutter as you normally would. However, if the edge of your hearth ends with no surface pressing against it,you may want to look into rounded tiles. These give a smooth edge to your hearth and make sure cut edges aren’t visible. You can also see if the tile you have has pieces that have been glazed or rounded on one edge. You’d then cut the tile and place it normally, with the cut edge facing inward.

Glass tile can cost as much as or more than other durable tile types. When choosing the right tile for you, knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each can help you make an informed decision. The pros and cons of glass tile include:

Pros

  • Light-reflecting to add brightness

  • Waterproof and mold-resistant

  • Made from recyclable materials

Cons

  • High cost compared to similar and more durable materials

  • Usually requires professional installation

  • More easily scratched compared to materials like ceramic and porcelain

Different types of tile cutters may work best depending on the type of tile you are cutting and the size of your project. There are two main types of tile cutters: manual and electric. Manual tile cutters are quick and easy to use for small projects and softer tile materials, but they can only make straight cuts. Electric tile cutters make light work of big projects and can cut through harder materials.

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

Technically, you can start tiling in a corner and work your way out. However, it's not traditionally how tiling is done. Instead, work from the bottom middle of the wall. Tile out the entire row with whole tiles before moving on to the next row. Once you finish installing all of the whole tiles, then you focus on tiling the corners.
