"Kings Collective was GREAT. Like any project, there were issues. But promises to "make it right" were always kept. They always took that extra step to get everything perfect. Our new bathroom looks incredible! EVERY employee was polite, respectful and hard working. It is hard to find fault with the company and I would recommend them without hesitation. I hope to hire them again for a new project!"

"I was totally unfamiliar with the particulars of a project like this and Justin was fantastic in educating me. He patiently answered my questions and always gave me multiple options. The crew members he assigned to my project Mike, Brian, and Andy were true craftsmen. They were never satisfied just doing a good job but were attempting to achieve perfection every step of the way. Like Justin, each of the guys because a friend with the patience and true concern they showed in making sure my project was completed to the highest standards. I could not be happier. If anyone I know or meet mentions needing a contractor, Affinity will be the first and last word out of my mouth. Thanks guys. Ed"

"Daniel and his crew did a great job on our project which consisted of a new garage, enclosure of an existing carport for a sunroom, and new driveway. We ran into several complexities but Danielâ s crew worked through them. We did run over budget but that was partly our fault for not asking detailed questions upfront. Daniel routinely texted updates â roofing materials delivered tomorrowâ or â foundation poured tomorrowâ , etc. and was quick to respond to questions. Overall, we are pleased with the quality of the completed project."

Customers say: Quick response

"Cannot recommend them enough. Dave and his son are both very professional and easy to work with. Explained what we were looking for in our basement remodel and they worked with us to get exactly what we wanted for a reasonable cost. Quality of work is fantastic, and stuck to the original timeline perfectly. Dave checks in everyday to make sure everything's progressing which is very appreciated especially having worked with other contractors in the past who are extremely difficult to get ahold of. Very satisfied with all aspects, and would recommend to everyone."

Garages questions, answered by experts

The first place you start with any garage remodel, regardless of the project, is with repairs. You want a stable foundation to avoid problems from arising down the road. Once any necessary repairs are addressed, you’ll want to move on to layout changes, like installing new walls, running new electric, plumbing, and HVAC to the space, if required, and then finishing work.

You can expect your seal to last anywhere from 1 to 5 years. Several factors affect this—material, frequency of use, and the weather. For example, seals made from high-quality rubber are built to withstand the elements and can go the distance with a little TLC. If your door sees a lot of action or faces extreme heat or cold, the seal could wear out more quickly. Regular maintenance—like cleaning and lubrication—can make your seal last longer. And while it’s rare, a professionally installed seal on a smooth floor can potentially last up to 10 years.

There are three ways to open the garage door when the power is out. One is to invest in a solar panel and battery system or generator backup power. Another method is to use the quick-release key to disconnect the garage door from the garage door opener. You can also use the key to your house to wait out the power outage and reset the garage door opener once the power returns.

If your garage door key is inside your home and you don’t have a spare key on hand to access your entry points, then call a locksmith.

A garage door screen can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you frequently use your garage for activities like a home gym, workshop, or other hobbies. It allows you to enjoy fresh air and natural light without worrying about bugs. Additionally, a screen provides ventilation that can improve air quality when you're working with paints, varnishes, or producing sawdust.

The best option depends on your usage. For occasional use, a DIY fabric screen is a low-cost, simple solution that you can put up and take down as needed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the space, investing in a customized, professionally installed garage door screen can help transform the area into a new hub for your household.

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. As you might guess, screens also won’t insulate your garage, so they’re often not usable in colder weather.
