"Justin and his team did an outstanding job. I hired them to finish the basement in my new home. Justin and Jon were very good at communicating with me. Giving me updates and letting me know ahead of time items that I needed to select so that the project stayed on track. His team was courteous and professional. They kept the worksite as clean as possible. Justin was mindful of my budget for the project. He understood what I was looking for and delivered great results. I would say even better than what I imagined. Both myself and my wife are very pleased with our basement. As a matter of fact, we asked Justin to do a patio and railings just after completing the basement Iâ ve worked with other contractors in the past and I can honestly say Justin and his team beat them all."

Customers say: Quick response

"Cannot recommend them enough. Dave and his son are both very professional and easy to work with. Explained what we were looking for in our basement remodel and they worked with us to get exactly what we wanted for a reasonable cost. Quality of work is fantastic, and stuck to the original timeline perfectly. Dave checks in everyday to make sure everything's progressing which is very appreciated especially having worked with other contractors in the past who are extremely difficult to get ahold of. Very satisfied with all aspects, and would recommend to everyone."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"We had an excellent experience with this pro, who built our home from the ground up. From the beginning of the project to completion, they were professional, reliable, knowledgeable, and committed to doing quality work. They paid close attention to detail, communicated well throughout the entire process, and made sure the work was completed properly and efficiently. We are very happy with the final result and the quality of our home. I would absolutely hire this pro again and highly recommend them to anyone looking to build a new home."

"Randy was just awesome! He was very knowledgeable and very kind. I called him around 10 am after having a new refrigerator delivered. I explained that I needed some help with the water line that connects to the ice maker/water dispenser. He explained over the phone what likely needed to happen and then told me that he would get back with me in a couple of hours. I gave him my address and info and sure enough--2 hours later he comes, takes a look at what I need done, went to the hardware store, and bought what was needed. He then came back and installed everything and spent a good deal of time talking to me about installing our gutters. He's very friendly and I would not hesitate to call him again if we need work done on our house or remodeling. The quality of service we received definitely exceeded the price we paid to hire him. Randy, if you see this, thanks again very much for all of your help today!"

Home Building questions, answered by experts

How long it takes to build a custom home or rebuild a home after a disaster varies depending on many factors, but averages between seven and 14 months. Smaller homes or homes that don’t need a re-poured foundation may take less time to build than larger homes or homes without an existing foundation. Material availability, contractor schedules, and permit and inspection timelines can all affect how long your house takes to build.

While it’s never too early to start planning for a major home improvement project like a home addition, give yourself at least a month or two to plan and design your addition, find a contractor, and get the permits in order. For larger projects like a second-story addition that require designing with an architect, plan on three to four months of preparation.

Modular homes can go up or down in value depending on a few factors. In areas where real estate is appreciating, the value of modular homes is likely to increase, and vice versa. Additionally, the value of modular homes depends partially on the area. In cities where every other home is stick-built, modular homes might be considered a functional obsolescence, in which case they could be less desirable and go down in value. In either case, though, modular homes can still be a good investment, especially since they provide housing at a lower upfront cost.

Modular homes can be a great investment, especially for those who find the prices of stick-built real estate too high. Modular homes are usually much more affordable because they’re mass-manufactured and then assembled on-site or delivered mostly assembled. If they’re installed properly and by professionals, they can last for between 50 and 100 years, potentially making them an outstanding investment.

Modular homes are a type of prefab home. Specifically, manufacturers first build modular homes in sections and then deliver them to the job site. The modules, or sections, are usually at least 70% finished before they arrive on your property.

In comparison, prefab homes arrive in panels or segments, and workers assemble them on-site. Generally speaking, modular homes tend to be more durable, and their consistent construction standards may mean you’ll have an easier time getting conventional home loans.
