"This was horrible and then it got worse. Cabinets came and about 30% of the order was defective and not worthy of installing. After taking pictures of all the defects etc. A replacement order was generated -one month later the replacements arrive. Once again defects, poor workmanship etc. I ordered several 39 inch high cabinets - ALL of them were different heights - doors were different heights as well. Cracked joints, warped doors, crooked cabinets, poor quality finishes etc. You name it - it happened, on the original order as well as the replacements. Save yourself from the headaches that I got. Go somewhere else....anywhere but here. It's now may 17th and I'm now submitting another claim. Stay tuned!""

Dan and Danielle Randolph were able to see the vision that we had for our home and they gave creative input that made for a very unique set of custom cabinets! They operate with the utmost attention to detail--we are so pleased with the work they've done for us! Not only did they build the cabinets that we wanted, they also took on some "unfinished" projects that we needed for our new home--fixing a set of antique corbels that we wanted to use on our covered back porch, they also converted an antique fireplace mantel into a beautiful built-in book case that is in the center of our home. The best plan of action is to measure the existing drawer, purchase a replacement with similar drawer slides, and install the new one. You can reuse the current drawer hardware if it’s still functional or spring for new handles if you want.

Late summer or early fall are two popular times to upgrade kitchen cabinets. With the holidays right around the corner, this gives you spillover time in case your renovation project takes longer than anticipated. Then you get to host and show off your new kitchen when company comes.

You can use a soft-close hinge adapter on existing cabinet doors instead of buying new soft-close hinges. If you want soft-close cabinet doors on a budget, invest in the small adapters that allow you to convert an existing hinge to a soft-close style. They’re much less expensive than new soft-close hinges and are simpler to install. However, they don’t always last as long. 

Birch or maple plywoods have tight grain patterns and are dense species that hold up well over time and even in damp environments with proper sealing. These properties make them the most stable plywoods. Oak plywood is also an excellent option. However, care is necessary to ensure oak is well-sealed against moisture to ensure stability.

If you’re brave enough to tackle building your own cabinet bases, you’re brave enough to install them yourself. You’ll need a stud finder to get you started, but the installation will be a breeze if you’ve already done all the hard work to build the cabinet bases yourself. If you’re hanging upper cabinets, you’ll need a helper, though, to balance the weight of the cabinets and make the process easier.
