"We were very pleased with the work done. Charles came by between jobs to inspect our two chimneys and provided a quote immediately after discussing the options and his recommendation. He did not suggest relaying rows of bricks, which would have been much more expensive and was not necessary in his estimation. They grinded and tuckpointed the upper portions of two chimneys and repaired cracks and openings in both crowns. They used a small boon that still extended 25-30 feet high, which allowed them to do the work in one day. They arrived on time, tarped the areas, and cleaned off the roof and patio and yard areas when finished. He took before and after photos as well. Very professional throughout the project."

"I had Hoffman Concrete redo my driveway, and sidewalk last spring (2022). Throughout the entire process, from quote, to scheduling, to work performed, and on they were fantastic. The quality of workmanship was excellent, and the whole crew was great. The thing that really impressed me was the care and attention after the job was done and paid for. This is also the reason why I waited a year to write a review. Some places can do incredible work but leave you hanging after the job is done. I decided to have them seal my driveway at the time of installation, and that opened me up to a 1-year warrant for covered items. Without getting too wordy, I had some minor issues as a result of the winter (not a result of workmanship). I was able to call them, and they exceeded my expectations with their attention, and solution to it. Concrete can be temperamental, and it can be easy for things to fall outside the warranty, but companies who care about their customers, like Hoffman, do no look for loopholes, but instead focus the customer satisfaction. I will plan to use them for any future needs, and I have already given out strong recommendations to family and friends. This is a high-quality company."

"They did the cleaning and found that the screen cap had deteriorated which could allow animals and birds to get in and the fireplace wall had cracked which could allow fire to get into the wall. They repaired both p[roblms while here and we were very satisfied."

"Removed brick veneer from one section of our house and installed in another area. They installed stone top caps on a brick half wall across the entire front of our house and white washed brick. They also repaired our brick chimney and brick HVAC exhaust stack."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

The short answer is yes, but the longer answer is more complex. Unless the fireplace is ventless by design, you’ll need some type of exhaust pipe system to safely send fumes and other harmful byproducts out of the house. Even then, ventless fireplaces are not always permitted because they do keep the byproducts inside of your house. Ventless fireplaces are safest when installed in spaces that are themselves well-ventilated, like large rooms with lots of windows.

According to the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), the leading cause of house fires is cooking accidents, followed by fires started by heating equipment. Electrical issues are the third most common cause of house fires. The best way to keep your home protected is to use caution when cooking and never leave a stove or oven unattended while in use. You can also keep up with chimney cleaning and avoid using space heaters to reduce the risk.

No, it is not safe to use an outlet that sparked. A spark from an outlet could indicate a short circuit, loose or frayed wiring, or other serious damage. Continuing to use an outlet that sparks can increase the risk of electrical shock, electrical fires, and other hazards. It's important to turn off the power to the outlet at the circuit breaker if possible and avoid using the outlet until a licensed electrician has inspected and repaired it.

Yes, a hot or overheating outlet is a fire hazard and can cause a fire. An outlet becoming hot indicates an electrical problem, such as an overloaded circuit, loose connections, or a faulty component. The heat from these issues can ignite nearby flammable materials like curtains or furniture. If you notice an outlet is hot to the touch, turn off the power at the circuit breaker, unplug any connected devices, and consult a qualified electrician. If a fire does start, use a Class C fire extinguisher or baking soda to suppress it, or evacuate immediately and call the fire department.

Yes. It’s okay to leave a pellet stove on overnight, and these stoves can provide 24 to 48 hours of warmth from one ignition. However, you should practice proper pellet stove maintenance, like cleaning the burn pot before each use, deep cleaning the unit at least once per year, and running the fan when the stove is lit.
