"We found Fred's Company on Angi. He has great reviews on Angi and that was why we contacted his company. When we first met, he showed us photos of decks he has done and even showed us his insurance information which was important to us. Fred is great with communication, and he sent us texts when he was on his way to our house to do the work, He called after it was completed to make sure we were happy with his service and the deck, which we were. He also asked if we needed help putting our furniture back on the deck which we didn't, but it was nice he offered. We are very happy with our deck and the way it looks now after the work."

Customers say: Quick response

"Jacob and Cody have been amazing to work with. We originally hired them to repair our stairs and have since contracted with them to install our kitchen tile floor, install electric in our kitchen island and to repair some of our drywall. Their team is very professional, their estimates are accurate and they do quality work. We plan to hire them again when we remodel our bathrooms."

"Kenneth is everything you want in a handyman. He is incredibly hard-working, punctual (honestly he’s usually early), & extremely polite! His work was done right, (no even a cuss word from a particularly challenging part of the job, he paid attention to details, and the entire experience was stress free. I was so impressed that I’m already planning to hire him again. As soon as the weather warms up, I’ll be calling him to stain my deck. If you’re looking for someone dependable, trustworthy, and skilled, Kenneth should be your guy too!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

In some cases, you can use a fireplace once the insert has been removed. However, before burning a fire, you must have a professional inspect it and the chimney to make sure they're functioning properly and no damage has occurred from removing the insert. That’s because using a fireplace without an insert could create fire hazards due to issues with airflow and heat dispersion, depending on the fireplace design and material. A professional can advise on whether you should make certain repairs or modifications before using your fireplace as an open hearth.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.

Yes, mineral spirits are flammable and may spontaneously combust at temperatures of 200 degrees F or more. Storing them in well-ventilated spaces and disposing of them the proper way are the best ways to prevent mineral spirits or anything contaminated with them, like towels and rags, from going up in smoke.

Yes, there are regulations on using wood stoves, particularly concerning emissions and installation standards. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sets emission limits for wood stoves to ensure they burn cleaner and more efficiently. Additionally, local building codes may have specific requirements for installation and venting, so it's essential to check with local authorities before installing or upgrading your stove.

To ensure the safety and longevity of your pre-fabricated fireplace, perform regular maintenance. This includes regular cleaning, checking the unit for cracks, and ensuring the venting and ventilation systems are clear and functioning properly. Additionally, scheduling professional inspections helps ensure safe operation.
