"They did a great job, they cleaned and inspected both fireplaces as requested and gave a detailed inspection with pictures showing damage with a quote that was emailed 24 hours later. We have white carpets throughout our house and I was worried that they would be stained. I could not see any evidence of soot when the work was finished."

"They are concerned with your safety. After checking around the solution they offered easy reasonable. I also think they are reasonably priced! My bad attitude initially is probably why they have not responded when I wanted them to fix my fireplace."

"They told me it they would not be able to get to it until spring. However called in early January and scheduled to come out and fit the issues. The masonry did a wonderful job of matching the grout to the original. We are in the middle of a pandemic so not much conversation but he's work said it all. Perfect. Thanks"

"Dillion and his crew repaired the back wall of my house by replacing bricks that were damaged and Tuckpointed it. I also hired them to repair my fireplace damper and to put a liner in my chimney flue. They did an amazing job, cleaned up, and finished in a timely manner."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

In short, yes, gas fireplaces create fewer pollutants and are considered more environmentally friendly than traditional ones. In general, natural gas fireplaces release only half to two-thirds as much CO2 per unit of heat (BTU) as burning wood. Plus, gas fireplaces emit fewer harmful particles and air pollutants. They can also be about three times as efficient as wood in terms of heating your home, resulting in a much higher level of their energy converting into heat.

You can safely build a fire pit on your patio as long as you use porous, fire-resistant pavers or a fire pit mat over existing pavers. Otherwise, you’ll need to have exposed ground beneath your pit. You’ll also need to make sure the location for the fire pit is far enough away from your house and any other nearby structures.

In most homes, your chimney and HVAC are separate from each other. However, you can use your chimney to save on heating costs in the winter. Turn off your HVAC system and start a cozy fire, then watch the electric bills drop during the coldest months. Make sure your flue is closed when not in use so that you don’t end up pumping heat or cool air from your system outside.

You can build a fireplace on an existing house, but it’s much easier to construct a masonry fireplace when building a new house. To add to an existing house, you’ll need to build a chimney and ensure the foundation can support a true masonry fireplace. Alternatively, you can purchase a gas or electric fireplace insert, which isn’t as complicated to add to an existing structure.

The easiest fireplace to build is an electric fireplace. These aren’t true fireplaces but can mimic the look of a traditional fireplace. True fireplaces, made of brick and stone, are complex and require professional installation; adding them to an existing home is demanding and expensive. You could spend $30,000 to have a real fireplace installed.
