"The client called us and had us come with the carpet people all over the house which set us back tremendously. There was trash, dust, metal pieces of some type equipment they put in the floors that penitrated my foot & also caused me alot of time. The house was supposed to be empty without trim and without new flooring. There was a couple spots we made which we cleaned up and one that we didnt get to bx she didnt let us come the next day. She made up multiple excuses about the moving company which I believe never existed bc she made multiple excuses of why thy didnt come which had nothing to do with me. They was done packing, they were short men, they didnt have a van, the weather was bad and so on. While she was saying all this multiple boxes and cardboard trash was all over the house every single day when I came and multiple items included beds and couches and multiple huge boxes. I don't believe personally the moving company ever came. The contract never included multiple accent walls in EVERY single room, which is a huge amount in extra money. Man power and money adding up to around an extra 3500. She also had stepped in paint and tracked as her footprints as I told her was in paint on the cardboard and floor. We also took pictures before of the floors and she also agreed with us that there was paint splatter prior to us being there. I told her from day one I had to fire the painters I had and that had a small tear in my knee and that it would slow me down a bit but I would get it done. That was before I knew how much extra things she wanted in the house. And the walls all needed three coats which would have been an extra 4300 for any other client. Which I only charged a few hundred dollars. The paint and materials alone was thousands of dollars due to all the extra materials she wanted done. I wanted to make her happy and in all the years I worked. I haven't gave such a discount and done so much to try and make a client happy. I also worked a few 12 hour shifts working until around night time. She knew I had to go back and forth to the dr. But I didn't neglect my duties to the home. I slid down the basement stairs when I was working which I didnt tell her. I didnt want her to worry and that actually made it worse. It started swelling even worse. I continously worked despite it all. In reality, all the changes and things added there wasn't a significant amount of gain in this project bc of all the things I didn't charge. We also spent time for free spraying oil primer on her ceilings. Which would have been around 350. We also started wiping and cleaning paint from the others that wasn't our job. The refund of the bill is beyond disrespectful. She also had over 1200 of equipment I have yet to get back. I tried to call first thing Monday morning after she didn't want me there during the weekend. And I tried to tell her I would be happy to come and finish the small partial pieces we had left which was mainly the second cut ins down in the basement. So, I counter the client with the amount of 10,500. Due to all the work and things that should have been charged that wasn't. After I slid down the stairs she informed me that bc my knee kept getting large after that, her being a podtriast. I would more than likely need surgery. I went above and beyond for this client in every single way. I have never done so much work and not charged the client for it. I'm very upset that in my mind she lied about the moving company, making up and saying the paint was all of our fault on the floor, that she didnt even realize just how much we lost in money trying to make her happy. Her husband was coming that weekend ironically and she said he was very mad bc the house wasn't done and ready to go including all the furniture and massive boxes of items that wasn't put together."
