"After an unexpected flash freeze and 3 pipes bursting in my kitchen, I came home to a flooded main level. It was devastating! Being that I live in a Century home I was hesitant about hiring just anyone. Keeping the aesthetics of a Century home was a must for me. Al Birkenmeier was recommended to me as he has many years of experience in building homes from the ground up and remodeling. I could not have been more pleased with the results! Al and team are extremely professional and go ABOVE & BEYOND to not only get the job done but to do it RIGHT. You don't find many people that will do more than the original plan just to make it right, but they did! It seems every corner we turned a new issue would arise, mainly because the house is so old, but the team never waivered! They fixed everything they came across and made it right! He finished in 90 minutes and that included going back to hardware store for a different color grout because he didn't like the way it looked. When done you could not tell the floor had been fixed. Excellent job. Highly recommend."

"Tom and team did a basement remodel for me about 13 years ago, including adding a bathroom. Subsequent projects were window replacement for the entire house, and new roof/front porch. We received numerous compliments about the roof and front porch as it improved the entire look of the house from the street. He also replaced my concrete driveway to make it double wide. The most recent job was updating the columns wrapped around the porch. They were wrapped in aluminum which looked great but seemed like squirrels like to chew on them. Went with a different material this time around."

"Gary Kimberlin's team did a great job for us with a series of small projects which were too big for a handyman, but apparently too small for most contractors. Most of the general contractors we contacted through Angie's List never never got back to us, but Gary treated us as valued customers from the start. Gary himself contacted us to provide a bid, and his responsiveness was exceptional. He spent about an hour with us taking measurements and discussing what we wanted to accomplish. Maybe we could have found a cheaper bid out there somewhere, but we were pleased with the punctuality and quality of the work, so I don't regret a cent that we spent. We had a series of small tasks which Gary's team performed over a couple of days. They arrived and departed when they said they would. First, they installed roll insulation in the crawl space under our living room. Rather than stapling the insulation in place, they recommended a slightly more expensive hanging system which allows the insulation to be removed and then put back without damaging it. Since additional remodeling is always a possibility, we appreciated the foresight on this issue. Second, we had planned to install a skylight in the living room, but Gary suggested can lighting instead, and I'm glad he did. Any time you punch a hole in the roof, it could leak, no matter how well you seal the edges. Can lighting was less expensive and created no possibility of leaks. We weren't happy with the first set of can lights Gary's team installed. Without complaint, Gary's team uninstalled them and replaced them with lights that we could swivel to highlight our artwork on the wall. We appreciated the team's flexibility and good attitude about the change. Third, the most complex portion of the job was repairing a wall and floor that had been damaged with pet urine. Gary's team removed the damaged baseboard, cut away the damaged carpet and pad, repainted the wall, and installed a new baseboard. This left a hole in the carpet which we covered with a throw rug, which was the solution of our choice. The repairs to the wall are seamless -- you'd never know the work had been done. Gary didn't press us to replace the whole carpet, which we weren't ready to do because our beloved older pet was still with us. The solution worked -- the smell is gone, and we didn't spend more than we wanted to. We'll complete that remodel another day. Last but not least, Gary's team did a thorough job cleaning and repairing the gutters. Small sections of guttering had come loose, which they refastened to the roofline. The one part of the remodel that didn't go as I had hoped pertained to a roofing issue. We had a gap in the soffit panels under the eaves. We had been concerned that a squirrel could climb through the hole and nest under the roof. Gary's team assessed the roofline and said that the hole in the soffit didn't communicate through to the attic, as far as they could tell, so the squirrels couldn't use it as a gateway. Unfortunately, that conclusion turned out to be incorrect. Six months later, we had to pay a wildlife control company to get squirrels out of our attic. The animal control team determined that the entry point was the hole in the soffit and installed a sheet metal cover for it. While the squirrel removal and roof repair were expensive, I don't fault Gary's team for mis-diagnosing the issue. Two other contractors/handymen had previously looked at the same problem and reached the same conclusion as Gary did, so obviously it was tricky. (We had had squirrels under the roof in a previous home, so I was concerned about this issue.) We look forward to work with Gary Kimberlin Construction again on a future remodel."

"I needed to get my laundry room out of the basement and brought up to the main floor. The only good option was to convert part of my single-car garage. After all, who can really part today's car in a 1960's size single garage?! I had a general idea of what I wanted but Dana and her team listened to my needs and came up with a design that worked with both my needs and budget! I use to have to depend on my kids (AKA: pay them) to do my laundry. It's so nice doing my own laundry again and I sing Next Project Studio's praises with each load! Bravo Dana & Team!"

Brian Inkley (owner) and Jacob Quick (project manager) have a team of dedicated, talented professionals. They did a superb job in restoring our damaged house. They are a busy team of workers who kept us appraised of their availability for the various stages of our restoration. For the repairs that they didn't do themselves they had excellent recommendations for the professionals we needed such as the carpet installation, closet system installation, kitchen cabinets and the refinishing of our hardwood floors. They seem to be in demand, working at several projects at the same time but we always felt that we were their top priority. Jacob worked with our homeowners insurance adjuster to be sure that the funds allocated for our losses were enough to complete our projects.
