Customers say: True professional

"David, Chris, Bo and Zack did an amazing job on painting our lower level. They split up the work getting the trim and walls prepped and painted over 5 days. David imparted tips on how to deal with scrapes and marks, as well as how to paint doors. They vacuumed when done and removed all they had brought in. We would highly recommend them for a class A job, no doubt!"

"They were very good, thought the cost was high cause they did not have to paint the window trim or soffits., but they did chalk around the windows, and replace approx. 8x8 inch pc of siding and a firring strip for me. Very polite and professional. I didn't like the uneven painted edge on the sides of the windows. They washed the house before painting. They scraped and primed, then painted my porch railing. All looks very good. I would recommend them."

Small jobs welcome

"We had an amazing experience with Lapuc Renovations! From start to finish, they were professional, detail-oriented, and truly dedicated to delivering high-quality work. The team was punctual, respectful, and took the time to ensure we were happy with the work. The drywall and paint job was fantastic and they were also great with prep and cleanup, leaving everything spotless when they were done. If you’re looking for skilled painters who take pride in their work, I strongly recommend Lapuc Renovations. We will definitely be using them again for future projects! Sue & Ben"

Painting questions, answered by experts

Both a roller and a brush are effective methods for painting a chain link fence. A roller will make the job easier by ensuring symmetrical strokes and reaching the backside of the fence as well, which cuts down on paint time. However, a brush is often necessary for painting the base of the fence and near the posts due to its ease of reaching smaller spaces.

Wood stain is typically dry to the touch within 6 to 12 hours, but it is not fully cured at this point. You should wait at least 24 hours before applying a second coat or a protective finish. For surfaces like decks, avoid walking on them for at least 24 to 48 hours, and wait even longer before placing furniture. The full curing process can take from 24 hours to one week, depending on the type of stain. Factors like high humidity and cold temperatures can extend drying and curing times, so it's wise to allow for extra time in these conditions.

Preparation includes cleaning the fence, sanding any rough areas, applying a primer if necessary, and ensuring dry weather for application.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.

A cedar fence will actually last quite a long time even if you don’t treat it with stain. In fact, you can expect to get between 15 and 30 years out of an untreated cedar fence. However, if you want to preserve its color and extend its life, treat it with a combination stain and sealer every three to five years.
