"Very prompt and priced competitively to the major egress window installer in the Kansas City area. They provided a fair and prompt quote, showed up when they said they would and finished the job on time. They also come back a week after the install to add dirt around the egress window outlet after it has settled. I've recommended them and would hire them again."

Warranties offered

"A sales person came out and showed me what they offered even though he came in a vehicle with the windows installed for 189 logo on it I don't recall the rep saying anything about that price. After a fairly long presentation about the products we got down to dollars and cents I replaced five windows for $289.00 each plus the haul away fee and taxes for a total of around $2450.00 or so and I had to pay half of that at the time the order was placed because the windows are made to order I was told by the rep. A week later the company sent someone out to measure the windows again to make sure the first person got it right( I thought that was smart) . I got a call I guess about a month later to tell me my windows were ready to be installed and we set a date. The installers showed up on time and started taking the old windows out on what had the be most humid day of the summer, I was told they would be installing the windows from the outside and that they would put plastic over the space when the window was taken out but the tape wouldn't stick and after two or three hours withe the windows open in Missouri in June I had every fly in my house that could make it to this part of town. The windows look great and I must say they took their time and now that it's getting cold I can feel the difference . Bottom line with window world they should stop talking about the $189 windows in ads cause I don't think they really have such a product I guess it's just the way they get in the door.

"Professional! Andrew recognized the root cause of the water entering the basement while other foundation experts were charging thousands more and never addressed the root cause. Andrew executed a simple yet elegant solution. The cost again was highly reasonable. Highly recommended."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

When reviewing screen repair quotes in Columbia, be cautious of unusually low or high estimates, requests for cash-only payment, or vague timelines. Reliable professionals should provide clear details about materials, discuss screen replacement options, and offer written warranties. Lack of local references or pushy sales tactics, especially after storms, are warning signs. Always confirm the contractor’s experience with Columbia’s climate and their approach to seasonal maintenance.

Helpful?

For screen repair in Columbia, select materials based on local weather and household needs. Fiberglass mesh is ideal for resisting humidity and temperature changes, while aluminum mesh offers extra durability for high-traffic or pet areas. Solar screens help block intense sunlight on west-facing windows. Opt for vinyl or aluminum frames to handle moisture and temperature shifts, and choose a 20x20 mesh or finer to keep insects out.

Helpful?

Combining screen repair with other home improvements in Columbia, such as window screen replacement or porch upgrades, can reduce project timelines and minimize disruptions. Scheduling multiple tasks together allows for more efficient contractor visits and better coordination. Consider aligning projects with seasonal maintenance or exterior painting to maximize convenience, especially during Columbia’s peak construction months when contractors are most available.

Helpful?

Columbia’s weather, with its humidity, storms, and temperature swings, directly affects screen repair and window screen replacement. Moisture-resistant materials help prevent mold, while sturdy frames withstand expansion from temperature changes. Plan repairs for spring or fall, when conditions are mild and installation quality is highest. Avoid scheduling during extreme summer heat or winter cold, as these can shorten the lifespan of new screens.

Helpful?

In Columbia, consider factors like increased contractor demand during university move-in periods, differences between rental-grade and homeowner-quality repairs, and local wind or tree coverage that may affect screen durability. Proximity to the Missouri River can increase moisture exposure. Check neighborhood or HOA guidelines for screen appearance requirements, and consider scheduling projects during off-peak months for better contractor availability and smoother project timelines.
