"Company was very easy to work with. They gave me a bid and explained what needed to be done and what schedule would be. They were very professional. They came when they promised and completed the work on time (even in the 95 degree heat). They left great instructions regarding when I could drive on it and what I should and should not do while garage floor and driveway cure. I would absolutely hire them again. They may not be the cheapest, but they certainly provide value for what you get."

"The work that was done was actually done well. The problem was the very next year we had many pits show up on the apron of the garage. I was told by the owner that "it was a bad year", and basically a lot of concrete suffered. No offer from him to come see or even patch the work. It was several thousand dollars to have this done only to be left with crumbling work. UPDATE: After posting a mediocre review on Angie’s List, Paul contacted me. Somehow our communications from the past fell through the cracks. He was sincerely apologetic (I believed him). He came out and inspected the problem. I was still under warranty, and he came out and replaced the outer apron and repaired the chipped concrete near the door a few days later. I now fully endorse Armstrong Concrete and I am happy with the outcome."

"We used Beds and Borders for the front steps and surrounding landscape. The way the original steps had been ‘encased’ within the retaining walls made the area impossible to shovel, so in winter the front door was either inaccessible or it was dangerously slippery to reach. Andy and Jesse came up with a gorgeous design that was more of a gentle pathway with landings instead of a standard staircase. It’s surrounded by native plantings and access paths to other areas of the yard. It’s so beautiful! They listened to what we were looking for and took into account our personal preferences on even small things. The crew was great about answering questions I had as the process moved along, and they also checked in with me if they had questions. On top of the excellent end product, the ‘business’ side was also great. Communication, schedule, cost—all as we initially discussed. I don’t hesitate to recommend them and would absolutely hire them again."

"We had a french patio door and 11 windows replaced in our home in Stillwater, Mn. We were extremely pleased with all areas of the process. Although the project was originally planned for mid November and did not start until mid-December and the weather created a few issues, the project was completed in a timely manner once it was started. I was very pleased with our installation crew: Chris, Gabe and Tanner. They worked very hard, were very considerate and punctual. Our sales person, Chris, did an excellent job in explaining the construction and product, Marvin Infinity windows and doors. The QC inspector, Josh was extremely thorough. Very little work had to be redone but Josh made sure every scratch and defect was replaced. We were extremely pleased with the thoroughness of his work. Platinum Remodeling and Handyman Services was founded in February of 2005 when I bought out House Doctors-Southwest Metro. I had been the operations manager of House Doctors since it's inception in late 2002. I ran all of the day to day operations, estimated, scheduled, and managed all projects. When I started Platinum, I hired three of my previous co-workers and we never missed a beat! I have a degree in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Strategies from Iowa State University. This business degree paired with my experience and passion for residential remodeling made this venture a perfect fit. I am the third generation of Shonkwilers to own a construction company. I grew up in the remodeling and construction industry working for my father's company, Shonkwiler Brothers Construction. My father got started working with my grandfather and his company, Shonkwiler Construction. As of September 2007 my father has joined my team.
