"All of the windows were replaced on the first day. On the second day the window wells were replaced and the walls and floor were patched. Another excellent job by Randy's team. I'll continue hiring G Gardner for all my concrete needs!"

"Travis exceeded my expectation in every area of this project! I was having major water issues in my basement due to the existing patio area sinking three inches from our harsh winter and spring flooding. Since he completed the project, we've had a storm with large rainfall totals...the new patio did exactly what he said it would...the water ran away from the house and drained to one central area into a garden! Not only does it keep water away from the house, the entire area is beautiful! Travis also went out of his way to make little tweaks to make it look more "finished." I recommend Trinity Landscaping & Excavating without hesitation!"

"Jon and his crew exceeded our expectations. The natural stone blend we selected was installed exactly the way we wanted. Jon explained every step the crew did during the installation, so there were no questions or concerns. The job took less time than we thought as well. The concrete slab that Hardline placed in the front yard was perfect as well. Jon suggested a charcoal stain over the stamped surface and it turned out great! We couldn't be happier with the work they did, and yes I will be getting more work done next year."

"We had them replace plumbing fixtures in our bathroom remodel and install in-line water heater to provide point of use hot water to a distant bathroom from our water heater. In addition, they replaced a deteriorating concrete laundry tub and replaced a shut-off valve for an outdoor water faucet that was leaking."

"It went perfectly. The only criticism I have is that my lawn now has a few large white spots where some concrete or sealant dripped. I'm sure the lawn will grow back there but it doesn't look too good now. The driveway looks great, however."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

The regulations around whether drain pipe installers need to hold licenses or certifications differ based on where you live and the type of drain pipe installed. Municipalities have varying rules and regulations about who can and can’t perform plumbing work. However, we recommend hiring a certified plumber to install or modify your drain lines. Licensed plumbers will perform a high-quality, professional installation, which translates to a lower risk of clogs and leaks in the future. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to confirm the license status of your potential plumber before hiring them to install your drain pipe.

The cost of basement waterproofing is $4,950 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying between $600 and $14,000, depending on factors like basement size, waterproofing method, and the region you live in.

If you live in an area with heavy rainfall, you might be paying more for waterproofing than if you lived somewhere drier since waterproofing contractors would be in high demand. Likewise, a 500-foot basement costs between $2,500 and $5,000 to waterproof, but that price rises significantly for a larger basement.

A sump pump should be placed at least three feet deep in a pit. The rim of the sump pump basin should be level with your basement floor. If you find your pit is too deep, you can fill the bottom with gravel until the rim of the sump pump is flush with the floor.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

Yes, the air from a damp basement can travel up into your living area through a process called the stack effect, so moisture, mold spores, and other debris in your basement air can all decrease your indoor air quality on your main floors. Additionally, damp basements can promote the rotting of building materials, which can damage flooring, insulation, and framing on your first floor in addition to materials in the basement.
