"We were really impressed. We thought they did a great job. We had somebody come out by the name of Aaron and he actually kind of gave us an estimate for the work we were looking to have done and we really like that he was easy to get a hold of and really timely in getting back to us on everything. So, we were really happy with them."

"We used Joe and his company for all our electric, plumbing, heating, and septic services for our new home we built and we cannot express enough how appreciative we are of Joe's great services! It's great to find a company who is down to earth, truly cares about the quality of work they provide, is easy to work with, very professional, reliable, and does it all so no need to contact multiple companies when you need to get things done- they did it all for us and extremely efficient to get it done right away! Joe made sure to coordinate with our contractors and kept us informed the whole time which took all the stress off us too, so that was refreshing to when dealing with a new build knowing we had full trust in contractors and Joe was on top everything and the communication he provided us each step of the way. He even followed up after our build to check in how things were going. That's awesome customer service! Joe's team members have done emergency calls at times you won't be able to find anyone else, and very responsive at answering any questions we have had while being extremely friendly, knowledgeable, hardworking, and respectful. We will continue to use Joe for all our plumbing, electrical, septic, heating needs and refer him to anyone looking! You won't be disappointed!"

"Customer Christmas Lighting is a great company! The process of finding the right lights for the house or yard was easy. The crew was thoughtful and did a great job. The team at the house made sure everything was setup right, looked great, and communicated well prior to leaving. For sure using them again! Jeff"

"I called Twin Cities Electric Inc. after receiving another quote for the same job that was about $900 higher than what Twin Cities Electric offered. Ted, of Twin Cities Electric, showed up the next day to provide a quote in writing and we offered to do the work a day or two later. Because of scheduling conflicts, Ted and another man came out to do the job less than a week later.
The job was completed in about five hours. Ted was easy to work with and offered a very fair price for the job. The only ding would be that the employee who helped him with the job showed up smelling strongly of cigarette smoke, but fortunately, that didn't linger after the job was completed.

"Replacing the staircase light fixture was a difficult job requiring the use of a ladder, a step ladder and an aluminum plank to create a level workspace in order to access the light. The new pendant was lowered by 6 inches, compared to the old one, to allow easy exchange of light bulbs. The electrician was creative in solving some installation problems.  He also saved me some money by advising me that some other electrical work I was considering might not be necessary."

"Paul showed up about 2 hrs. a head of schedule. He called but I had not gotten to my voicemail yet. I didn't mind him showing up early but I could see how this might bother other people if they didn't give him the ok to come early. He had an apprentice with him (name I cannot remember). I showed him what was needed. We sat down and he went over that he would be giving my house an electric "checkup" first then within that, come up with an estimate for the actual work I called them for. The thing that bothered me is that him and the apprentice, after walking around the house for the electrical checkup, both sat at my kitchen table as I was in my office within ear shot of them. I heard them random talking (not talking about the actual work because there was laughing) for about 20-30 minutes, like they were at their own home visiting. Finally after I walked into the kitchen a couple times, Paul came and we did a walk through on what he found in the electrical checkup and the actual estimate for the work I originally called them out for. Then we sat down and he showed me the 3 estimates he came up with. For the electrical checkup, $11,700+, then another estimate of $4800+ (partial work that was listed for the $11,700 estimate) then the actual estimate for what I wanted done $198. Not to hard of which one I went with. I said the last estimate and they did the work right away. Now the next thing has nothing to do with the work done or the workers themselves, but when it came to pay them I had to roll my eyes at the company, Boy's Airtech, and how the try and make it look like you are getting a deal when you are not. Now get this, I am a Comfort Club Member so with that I get a 10% discount on work, plus if I have work done, I don't have to pay the service call of $79 (but understand, I pay $20/month for the membership). So Paul went over the bill with me and with the 10% discount I got $19.80 cents off of the bill......but wait, there is a charge called a TFS charge on the bill that is $14.75. I asked Paul what that was and he really wasn't sure, he indicated it was like a fuel charge or something like that. I looked all over the invoice paper, back and front to see if they say what the TFS charge was, there was none. Soooo...that "10%" discount now just became only a $5.05 discount. The total work they did was disconnect the electrical cord from the fireplace insert, thread it through the hole in the fireplace that was already there from the insert that was removed already and reconnect the cord to the fireplace insert. About 20-25 minutes of work. Even though I checked that I would rehire them again....I wanted to leave that blank but it would not let me so I just checked yes because I am a member, but I am really not sure."

"We have been very impressed with the provider.  He is an excellent communicator and has kept us updated on when the work would be done.  Once scheduled, the work in our laundry room was completed very quickly.  We were not 100% sure on what exactly would look best for our room and the provider was very patient and diligent when helping us determine dimensions for the counter top and the walls.  The provider did a great job matching the paint to the rest of the laundry room and ensuring that the overall "look" was consistent with the cabinetry we had installed ourselves.

It took 90 minutes to do the electrical work and about 4 hours to complete the counter top.  The provider worked very cleanly and was respectful to our home.

We have been very pleased with this provider and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor."

"I was present for the inspection.  Justin took the time to make suggestions and answer questions throughout, never seeming rushed.  He was personable, courteous and seemed to do a thorough job in evaluating the home.  He completed the report the same night as the inspection, which included recommendations for the electrical issues identified.  On a side note, we had the unique experience of accidentally being locked in the basement by the current homeowner, on his way out the door.  Justin kept his cool and carried on with the job as I made the necessary phone calls, and we emerged from the basement with a full inspection report AND a good story."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

To keep your Red Wing home safe during electrical projects, establish clear work areas away from children and pets. Ask your electrical contractor about installing tamper-resistant outlets, GFCI protection in kitchens and baths, and using cord covers. Consider backup power for essential pet equipment, add smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and ensure all new installations are properly grounded for safety during MN’s long winters.

Helpful?

In Red Wing, electrical contractors often specialize in areas such as home rewiring, panel upgrades, lighting design, and fixture installation. Some focus on emergency repairs or generator installation, while others are skilled in solar system integration. Many contractors have experience working with both historic homes and newer builds, ensuring your project aligns with Red Wing’s unique architectural character and local electrical standards.

Helpful?

If your Red Wing home has frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, or outlets that feel warm, these are signs it’s time for electrical work. Homes built before 1960 often need panel upgrades or rewiring to meet modern demands. Consider scheduling projects before winter for reliable heating or ahead of storm season if you’re adding a generator. Renovations or new appliances may also require system updates.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical projects in Red Wing, confirm permit needs and inspection timelines to prevent delays. Obtain multiple quotes from local contractors and plan work during milder months to minimize weather-related issues. Evaluate your electrical panel’s capacity, document any known problems, and inform neighbors if outages are likely. For older homes, anticipate possible code updates or concealed wiring challenges during the project.

Helpful?

When planning electrical projects in Red Wing, consider the prevalence of historic homes, which may require specialized rewiring and careful preservation. Seasonal weather shifts, especially winter cold, can affect scheduling and system durability. Be mindful of local permit requirements, potential utility incentives, and any historic district guidelines that may impact your project’s timeline or approved materials for electrical upgrades.
