"This company appears to be intent on damaging the poor reputation of plumbers everywhere. I sent  Comfort by Design an email through Angie's List on Sunday, the day before what was projected to be (and was) the hottest day of the summer when I'd discovered the A/C in our new home didn't work. I meant to take care of this all spring and early summer, but we had a mild year and this was our first summer in this house which meant I have more than enough to deal with without looking for problems. I didn't expect an immediate response, let alone a call first thing Monday morning saying the tech would be at our place that afternoon.
There were more than a few things wrong, but he kept at it until he had it working and left us with a cool, comfortable home and a bill that was about half of what I'd expected. This is the third project I've used  Comfort by Design on and they have performed beyond my expectations every time. I can not recommend this company strongly enough. Whoever is doing the hiring for  Comfort by Design's field techs is an expert at the job and deserves a raise, as do all of their techs.
Thanks for your great service and for making our new home more comfortable (by Design?).

"Diagnosed the issue as electrical. Will need to get electrician in to see where the problem is between the fuse box and the dishwasher."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When hiring electrical pros in Ellsworth, prioritize those with experience in rural electrical systems and historic home wiring, as these are common locally. Ensure they’re knowledgeable about Ellsworth’s specific permit requirements and seasonal weather challenges. Ask about their familiarity with electrical panel upgrades and smart home technology, and request references from nearby projects. Emergency service availability and understanding of local energy efficiency incentives are also valuable.

Helpful?

In Ellsworth, homeowners are increasingly choosing smart thermostats and lighting to manage heating costs and boost convenience. Solar panel systems and electric vehicle charging stations are trending, reflecting local interest in sustainability. Upgrades such as heated bathroom floors, outdoor outlets for seasonal lighting, and backup power solutions for sump pumps are popular, emphasizing reliability and energy efficiency during Ellsworth’s long winters.

Helpful?

In Ellsworth, warning signs include lights flickering during storms, frequent breaker trips when using major appliances, or outlets that stop working in cold weather. If your home has knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, common in older Ellsworth houses, it may need updating. Any burning odors, warm outlets, or mild shocks are urgent signals to have a local professional inspect your electrical system.

Helpful?

For electrical maintenance in Ellsworth, keep a non-contact voltage tester, digital multimeter, and insulated screwdrivers for basic troubleshooting. Weather-resistant outlet covers and surge protectors are essential for storm protection. Cold-rated extension cords and backup batteries for smoke detectors help during winter outages. If you have a sump pump, a battery backup and supplies for generator transfer switches are smart additions for flood-prone areas.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Ellsworth should begin with a professional electrical panel upgrade assessment, especially in older homes. Install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and basements to meet safety codes. Update smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and add whole-house surge protection to guard against frequent storms. Consider integrating smart home features like programmable thermostats to enhance comfort and energy efficiency throughout Wisconsin’s changing seasons.
