"Worst company that I have ever worked it. In my experience, plain dishonest. They have not only made a terrible job on my furnace installation (which replacement need was questionable - my mistake of agreeing to it), they also damaged my perfectly working AC. Now, they are giving me the run around for 4 months to refund the AC damage. I've been calling multiple time per week and also went in person to their office. Before wasting your hard-earned money, pay them a visit at 9609 Girard Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55431 and get inside the office, then make your decision."

"Make sure you get an estimate before the original and add-on work begins. I started with installing a shutoff valve to remove a gas range and then added a leaking outdoor faucet and dryer vent after he arrived. It probably took about an hour to get some additional parts. It's hard to imagine why these 3 things took 4.75 hours, including charging me 0.5 hours to get parts. It certainly took a lot longer than expected."

Matt is very knowledgeable, has the patience of a saint and so kind. I called two other local well guys and still no call back. Hands down Rivers Edge is the best! Don't go with anyone else! Talk about customer service!"

With over 15 years of experience, Pete’s Plumbing specializes in commercial & residential plumbing services including bathroom remodels and basement finishes. Now servicing Big Lake, Zimmerman, & Princeton areas as well as the greater Twin Cities metro. Call or text Jeremy at 763.234.8187, today!

"I have renovated over twenty properties in several Minnesota counties. I work with several plumbers and most of them are honest and ethical. I believe at one time Jeremy was honest but is now using his companies reputation to over charge customers. I called Jeremy because I needed two copper pipes installed for a water softener. I explained that I would install and setup the water softener. Over the phone he quoted that his charges would be under $200.00 to install two copper pipes. Jeremy arrived at our property and worked from 3:00 pm to 3:20 pm. I then engaged Jeremy in conversation and he required $225.00 for twenty minutes of work. I challenged his extreme charges and he continued to claim that he is the cheapest plumber in the area. He explained that other plumbers complain that Jeremy is too cheap and hurt their pricing. This places Jeremy's hourly rate at over 600.00 an hour. Jeremy then handed me a time and material invoice for $225.00 and demanded full payment. I paid Jeremy in full but this is a warning that this company is defrauding and cheating innocent people in Anoka county. I intend to file a complaint with the department of commerce and other agencies to require that plumbers be regulated by government agencies. Plumbers such as Jeremy are overcharging and are worse than the most expensive attorney."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Water softeners are worth the money if you live in an area with hard water. Hard water is safe to drink, but it poses serious threats to your plumbing system. The minerals in hard water will gradually build up on the inside walls of your pipes, reducing water flow to your fixtures. The minerals can also gradually corrode your plumbing system, reduce its lifespan, and increase the risk of leaks. Hard water also makes soap and detergent less effective. Water softener systems can solve all these issues, making them a great investment.

A tankless water heater should be at least 10 feet away from a water softener, although the pros you hire for water softener installation can help you determine the correct distance. These two units need to have some distance between them to prevent hot water from the tankless water heater from flowing backward into the water softener when it runs a regeneration cycle.

You can install a water softener system by turning off the water supply, draining the water, and then connecting your device to the waterline. Next, you’ll fill your tank with the recommended amount of salt or brine (whichever your unit calls for; be sure to read the instructions). Turn the water supply on and check for leaks. You can opt to let your water run for a few minutes, then test it using strips.

The process of inspecting your water softener system is similar.

Because it’s been through the water cycle, evaporating and becoming slightly acidic thanks to dissolved carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, rainwater tends to be naturally soft compared to groundwater, which has just been in contact with limestone. However, the natural hardness level of water always depends on where you are and other factors.

Water purifiers and water softeners serve different purposes, so the best one will depend on your particular needs. Water purifiers remove contaminants from water (such as bacteria, viruses, and chemicals), leaving you with ultra-clean and safe water. However, water softeners remove minerals from your water so that the water doesn’t leave stains around your house or cause plumbing problems.
