I would not recommend water doctors to anyone looking for water treatment in their home. I've never written a bad review of a company but after my awful experience with Water Doctors I felt the need to share my experience and warn others. Water doctors installed our whole house water treatment system in 2016. Over the years the system worked "so so". Their customer service was never great. Fast forward to 2022 and multiple things started breaking down. We had to replace a tank, an irrigation rust removal system, and some valves (totaling $4,600). On the day the tech came to replace everything we were in and out of the house and not really paying attention to what they were doing. They ended up damaging our brand new (expensive) carpet (rusty water stains, and a large tear in the carpet). When I called to let Water Doctors know what happened they were very defensive and said they'd "do their own research on the issue and get back to me". When they finally got back to me they said the technician denied staining and ripping our carpet. It's quite upsetting to spend thousands of dollars with a company and have them treat you so poorly. We definitely will not be using Water Doctors again and I would not recommend them to anyone.

"HI [Member Name Removed], Thank you for taking time to write a review. After reviewing your account we noticed that you have used our services for years to help maintain your equipment without any service issues noted. As discussed on the phone you notified us weeks after our visit and had the carpet professionally cleaned. Without investing we are unable to confirm what caused the damage."

In my opinion, worst company I have ever worked with or even heard of. My experience has not been great. I can write a book, but here is the summary: Winter irrigation treatment system installed in basement. Used twice and flow switch got stuck in the on position, chemical pump ran for hours with no sprinkler flow. A hose broke or popped off chemical feed pump. Flooded our finished basement. Company is taking no responsibility. Owner is avoiding me completely. They did come out and repair the hose though, what a Joke! Update: Had remediation company out and our basement is tore apart. Repair is around 8,000. Well Flow switch gets stuck in on position again, chemical pump runs for hours with no sprinkler flow. Repair man comes out and replaces flow switch. When he replaced the switch he cracks a fitting in the pipe. Probably from over tightening the flow switch. Pipe breaks, water spraying in our basement....again. Caught this one a little bi earlier but it did flood prices of our basement again. This is a nightmare, and waterdoctors is to blame and they won’t take any responsibility. Update: We asked water doctors to remove the system. They said they will think about it. One day they appear at our door, I was at work but my wife was home. They tell her they are here to remove the system and they have a check for a full refund. They ask her to sign on the dotted line stating she received the check and authorized them to remove the equipment, so she did. What they didn’t tell her was the fine print on the the document which they were hiding at the time. After she signed they pull out the rest of the document, she reads it and it states that water doctors is not responsible for any of the damages created by their system. This is something you see from the movies no kidding. My wife tried to give them the check back but they refused to take it and proceeded removing the equipment. Update: Waterdoctors canceled the refund check. There reasoning is because I left unfavorable reviews. So they flooded our basement…twice, removed the system and then canceled the refund check. So we paid them $2,800 and nothing to show other than a flooded basement. In my opinion, this company is absolutely crooked send anyone hiring them for any work is asking for pain, anxiety and sorrow. Will never let them on my property again! My opinion these guys are 100% crooks and seriously they should be locked up for being scammers and living behind the bars. Oh and after some recent research, I have found this company has some web tools which removes poor reviews. Their website has positive reviews, but if you look closely we found many are fake and their software only copies reviews which are positive from the web. -Again quite deceiving!!

The technician was matter of fact about telling us that the BAD WATER scum I showed him meant we need "sediment filters" in line before the water reaches the "system" that 2 years ago cost $4600-and meant we'd never need to change filters again! They REMOVED the sediment filters we did have!!! They told us that the new "iron capsule" would take care of everything!!! Now they say, well, that's sediment, you'll need a filter to take out sediment!!! We HAD a sediment filter which they removed! Oh, and did I mention that the system has to backflush and run water every night!!! I have been BAMBOOZELED by these people! Don't get caught in a perpetual servitude to Water Doctors like we did! The "maintenance" was "recharging" everything but he clearly had to remove the head on the infinity and when I asked why he moved the tank he said something about "washers" that needed to be placed just so..... Gibberish. And since we had to wear masks and he was bundled up with a mask, we could hardly understand a word. He acted like every question we asked was an affront to him personally. We are very, very dissatisfied with the baloney and the COST! (AND, previous year I had to have them come out for a problem they denied we had, but charged us for the fix anyway.) So this semi-annual maintenance is a rip off! IF we do put in a sediment filter it won't be by these folks.

IF YOU ARE A CURRENT CUSTOMER OR CONSIDERING BECOMING A CUSTOMER - PLEASE READ!! If you desire piece of mind, view your home as your sanctuary, safe haven, your refuge, then you are also likely to be very mindful about the products and services you invite into your home. Therefore, if you seek a reputable company behaving with integrity, then Water Doctors is NOT for you - DO NOT ALLOW THEM OR THEIR PRODUCTS INTO YOUR HOME!! Imagine if you are a snow bird and are away from home for months at a time and you arrive home to discover water damage in your basement. You look to find the source of the water only to discover your Water Doctor's Infinity tank shooting water out of it due to a crack that the company is aware of but is doing NOTHING about it! Luckily for us it was one week and not months. Regardless, the damage incurred was disappointing to say the least! I am writing this review because I realize how bad the situation could have been and it is my desire to warn others so no one else suffers the same consequences that come from inviting Water Doctors products and services into your home! The technician (Brandon) who came out assured me that Water Doctors would take care of us and the damage incurred to our home. He took pictures and recorded a video of the water shooting out of the Infinity tank and pictures showing the quantity of damage and water pooling that took place in our basement. He told me he will share the video and pictures with his manager and that they would be reaching out to me. Based on Brandon's words, I initially and naively thought I would receive a call from Water Doctors letting me know they were aware of the problem, reviewed the video and pictures from Brandon along with next steps. However, that was not the case as there was no call, no sign of care or concern at all. So after a few days, we reached out and were provided Bob's voicemail. We discovered that Bob was often very slow to respond. He never answers his phone and he does not return calls. He only responds via email. Additionally, while Brandon was at our home he mentioned there was no record of us paying for service in 2019 (Water Doctors charges an annual service fee that I learned from reading a review after our water damage problem that not keeping up on service fees is used against you if you have problems with any of their products) even though I have a cleared check from my bank on October 11th, 2019 from Water Doctors. During our last email message from Bob he stated that "Brandon is an excellent technician but he does not create policy on warranty items." So, the statement made by Brandon that Water Doctors would take care of the damages was NOT true. Water Doctors claims to be insured. If this is true, it's important to note that they are not willing to open a claim to make us whole even though they are aware of their tanks cracking. Instead, Bob said, "I will discuss with our insurance company, but after 4 years these claims always go back to home-owners policies." We haven't even had the tank for 4 years so obviously his statement doesn't include customers having the tank for under 4 years. And, no claim was filed or mentioned again on our behalf by Water Doctors. Bob also responded in his email that in "Over 35 years we have over 40,000 of these type of tanks in the field and I have only seen a handful of these ever cracking." They are aware of the tanks cracking but in no way does he say he will file an insurance claim. And, in no way was there any sympathy, empathy or remorse for the damage we incurred due to their product failing in our home. We were only offered a replacement which adds insult to injury, especially since there is nothing in his email or their warranty to assure us that Water Doctors is working to improve their Infinity tank so no more tanks crack causing customer's to suffer damages. There are no guarantees that if problems arise they will take care of the problem to make customer's whole. The Infinity Systems Lifetime Guarantee (which is poorly written) has a General Provision sections which says: "Water Doctors assumes no responsibility for consequential damages because of escaped water from the water conditioner or brine tank. Labor or expenses incurred due to a defect or failure to meet the terms of these guarantee, is not covered because of circumstances beyond its control. Customer agrees to pay for service visits outside the regular service intervals if Infinity system is performing as designed." There are and have been way too many red flags with Water Doctors over the last 3+ years - NO MORE, Bob! I honestly don't know how you can sleep at night.
Response from Water Doctors Water Treatment Company
"We are sorry that this unfortunate accident happened to you and your home. We did everything within our power as a company to make sure we were able to get one of our Technicians out to your house, the same day when you called us to let us know what was happening late afternoon that Friday. We completely rearranged our schedule and got a technician out there as soon as possible to assess the situation, take pictures and take a video to see how severely the tank was losing water. We are unsure as of what may have happened between our last service call and the tank cracking. We did reach out and communicate that we would be happy to replace your tank with a complimentary tank and complete a full examination at our manufacturing facility, however you did not accept this offer and we have not heard from you since."

Excellent water treatment system.  This is our second one.  First in Rosemount, second in Edna.  Both are treating very hard water (26ppm).  Very clean and clear water in all of home!  No problems with either system since installation.  Thanks to Bob Yonke for a job well done!!

Bye-bye smelly water. Service was great, on time and done quickly. We were used to city water and when we moved to a home with it's own well we were smelling some sulfur odor and seeing the stains from the water. Everything I read online was about hydrogen sulfide and possibly being the drains or water heater. They quickly let me know that it was from the well and recommended the iron filter, which cleared up the problem overnight after flushing the system. We also replaced the aging water softener since it was due and probably full of iron. I'm very happy with the results. It was expensive, but we did get the biggest size and top of the line models for both units, and it was well worth it.

All steps in the purchase and installation of a new water softener went very smoothly. When it was clear that that the old water softener was no longer working, I obtained a list of vendors from Angie's List and made some calls. Bob Hoey at Water Doctors was friendly and informative and sent me some follow up information. He also offered a nice discount for Angie's List customers.

The installer arrived when scheduled and completed the work in the agreed-upon time frame. He removed all the pieces of the original softener and left no mess. The installation passed the city inspection on the first try. What more could you ask for!

On the day of the install, I thought everything was fine-- but after the technician left, I was without hot water-- (I had to call a plumber to come to relight the pilot light so I'd have hot water again.)  This should have been checked out by the Water Doctor technician before he left my home.
Also, just noticed my dishwasher no longer works either.   My dishwasher worked just fine before they set foot into the house.
I would NOT recommend Water Doctor to anyone-- seems that some of my plumbing was shut off and wasn't turned back on during the install-- I was given conflicting information from the technician (he told me "sure, you can put pellets in this unit") when the manual clearly states that you must use crystals or risk voiding the warranty.
I also do NOT like it when contractors slop around my house wearing their shoes.  The Water Doctor installer never took off his shoes or wore booties, and when he was installing the new unit, he got water all over the floor in the basement.  It was just really sloppy work.  The plumber I called to get my water heater going wore booties, brought along a towel to clean up his mess after he was done and just explained what he was doing.  That is how something is supposed to be done.
I hope this water softener is better than the service I received.  H***, I paid triple the price for this fancy Water Doctor unit.  I expected to receive service to match that as well.

I thought the salesman was easy going.I would deal with him again. He offered choices with explainations rather then begining pushy. He did make suggestions and we upgraded from one of  his suggestionsThe only reason I gave a B for responsiveness rather than an A is I had to call twice to confirm our installation date. The installation went well too.The installer needed to reroute some pipes which he did.The installation was clean and quite. We are very satisfied with the over all process.

Water Doctors did an excellent job installing a water filter/softener
for our new home and he gave us options for different units that were
cheaper and gave us the pro's and con's of each.  He also gave us a

Bob from Water Doctors arrived promptly at the scheduled time.  I have a Water Doctors Elite 5600SXT system currently.  After a thorough check of my current system I was told everything was fine but that I would have better filtration if I purchased an upgraded model for $1899.00 minus a $200.00 credit for the current system and $39.95 for the Angie's List Deal.  I needed to respond by 8/31/11 to receive that price.  While everything was very professional I was taken back somewhat that they felt I needed an upgraded water softener after only 2 years.  It was definitely a bit pressured scenario since I only had 24 hrs to decide.  I did not chose to get an upgraded model at this time.
