"Awesome service, they fit us in the schedule just before the end of October like they said. The worker was right on time for the install and was so efficient and very professional. If I ever need to do any work to the gutters again they will be my first call."

"We have nothing but the highest praise for the work that KeyPrime did. We used them initially for the replacement of some siding above our screen porch that had been pecked through by woodpeckers. William, recommended a James Hardie product that ultimately defeated the woodpeckers. The work was perfect. What impressed me the most, was that after we thought it looked great, the foreman Nick, told us that he would be back to fix some imperfections that we couldn't even see. This was a pride of craftsmanship that I hadn't come across before. We subsequently used Keyprime to replace our 20 year old roof. William did all the legwork with the insurance company. We didn't have to do a thing, other than sign some papers and pay our insurance deductible. William spared us the entire hassle of dealing with the insurance company. The new roof looks fantastic. Done on time. No mess less afterward. Finally, we hired Keyprime to replace a worn out exterior door and replace some baseboard around our kitchen cabinets. The work was done perfectly and the price was quite reasonable. We've hired various companies over the years to do a variety of repair work around our house. I can honestly say that we've never worked with a company that I have come to trust as much as Keyprime. I'm sorry to sound like a commercial, but any repairs that we have for the future, I will first check with Keyprime to see first if this is something that is in their wheelhouse. I can't recommend them highly enough."

"Serge responded promptly and diagnosed/quoted our job at a very reasonable price. Both gutter repair and heating cable repair/replace. They did a great job. He is a very professional and friendly person. I'm hiring him again for another repair."

"We had the pleasure of scheduling our roof replacement just as everything came to a head (virus-wise). Our old, barely functioning gutters had to go too. We were a bit nervous with the new Shelter In Place order and April approaching (showers that bring May flowers) with no gutters on our 100+ year old home. Thankfully, Mid-State Seamless Gutters was able to swoop right in within a day of the completion of the roof, and before a single raindrop fell from the sky, they had all our gutters up in just a few hours time. The crew was amazingly quick and had no problem putting them exactly where they were intended. I am so happy with the diverters they added for my two rain barrels - a much better solution then the DIY solution we have been struggling with all these years. I also have gutter screens for the first time ever. I canâ t wait to see the difference this will make. Thank you Mid-State Seamless Gutters for doing a fantastic job, especially during this time!"

"Great experience. I hired them to clean my gutters and to recommend gutter covers. I was told honestly that gutter covers wouldn't work with my gutters. I'd recommend them for sure."

"Tom Galbraith made a timely appearance, quickly assessed the problem with the garage gutters (poor initial installation by another company), suggested a solution, provided an estimate and the work was completed to our satisfaction some weeks later. We don't expect to need to repair or replace gutters but Capital City Exteriors also does roofing. We'll certainly contact them if needed."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Absolutely—and lots of it. Overflowing water from your gutters can damage your siding and your roof. All of the moisture getting into the cracks and crevices of your home can lead to mold or mildew problems down the line. In addition, when water pools around your home, it needs a place to go—and sometimes it ends up inside the house, creating a very unwanted flood.

You may have a clogged gutter. Downspouts can also clog if your gutter collects too much debris. Hire a professional gutter cleaner, and if you still have problems, install a gutter guard (which prevents debris from entering your gutter system) and a downspout extension (which helps drain water further away from your foundation, so it doesn't pool near your house). Follow these tips to keep your gutter downspouts clean.

The most common problem with gutters is clogging from debris like leaves, blossoms, and seeds from surrounding trees. This debris can block downspouts, leading to improper drainage and water overflow.

Other common issues include:

  • Leaks and holes, which can often be repaired with gutter sealant or caulk.

  • Rust, sagging, or detachment from the roofline.

  • Damage from strong storms.

  • Improperly pitched gutters that don't drain correctly.

Regular cleaning in the spring and fall is the best way to prevent most of these problems. You may need to clean them more often during periods of heavy leaf fall.

Gutter repair costs around $400 on average, and prices range from $200 up to $650 in most cases. You can expect to pay between $4 and $30 per linear foot. The best way to get an accurate estimate is to have a professional come out to price your project. Some factors that influence your total include the following:

  • Number of linear feet of gutter to repair

  • Gutter style

  • Gutter material

  • Accessibility of the gutters

  • Whether you have seamless or seamed gutters

  • Type of necessary repairs

Yes, it’s possible to replace only one section of a gutter, and it’s a common repair. Often, a tree limb will damage a gutter on one side of the house, or constant weather will cause early corrosion. Gutters are often joined together with couplings that are easy to remove and swap out. For this reason, some homeowners will purchase extra gutters when they install them to have spare sections to use for replacement later.
