"Great company! The texting software through Angi malfunctioned and my appointment was not confirmed, but they sent a plumber anyway. Thomas was great - professional, fixed the faucet quickly. Thank you!"

"Good! - plumber arrived early, spent a couple hours diagnosing problem, was not quick to start tearing walls apart, and came up with a very simple, inexpensive repair. Will hire again!"

"The plumber (Joe) showed up on time and got right to work. In addition to the faucet, I had new shut off valves for the washer and shut off valves for the sink installed. Joe was efficient and cleaned up when the work was completed."

"Nearby Plumbing arrived when they said they would. The job was top quality, completed on time, clean, and we had no issues after the job was complete! It can be challenging to find a good, trustworthy and reliable plumber. Nearby Plumbing stands out not only for the great work, but also for good communication. We clearly understood the problem, what would be done, and the status of the work project! We highly recommend Nearby Plumbing for any need!"

"We were very happy with Aleksey's work, attention to detail, professionalism, fair price and dedication to fixing our problem (a leaking shower). We had paid a different contractor to repair this leak and after a year the leak was back. Aleksey updated his approach to the repair as we learned more about the source of the leak, as he was determined to make sure the leak will not return. As the plan for the repair evolved he only charged us for the materials, not the additional time. He also removed the grout and re-grouted the walls of the shower, replaced several cracked tiles, and acid washed the tile floor of the bathroom. His pricing was very fair and he was always responsive and punctual. The work looks great! We would definitely hire Aleksey in the future if we were doing tile work."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to fix a leaking pipe is determined by the location of the leak, the extent of the damage, and the experience level of the person completing this task. Leaks from exposed pipes should only take an hour or so, but that can increase to several hours if a significant section of pipe needs to be replaced. Pipes in walls or ceilings will take two to six hours, while complex underground pipe repairs can take multiple days.

The two main types of bathtub faucets are screw-on and slip-on. A screw-on faucet has threads inside and screws onto the pipe, while a slip-on faucet slips onto the pipe and is secured with a setscrew on its underside. You may also encounter other designs, such as freestanding, wall-mount, deck-mount, or other high-end specialized systems. It is important to identify your specific faucet type before attempting removal to avoid damaging the pipes or the wall.

Yes, you can fit a vanity unit to an existing sink, especially if you plan to custom-build the vanity. With a prefabricated vanity, you’ll likely need to make a few adjustments. It depends on the type of sink, the size of the sink, and the existing plumbing. If you plan to retrofit a sink into a prefabricated vanity, make sure you take precise measurements and that your sink is compatible with the vanity you select. Prefabricated units have a precut sink hole, so you’ll need the size to match your sink.

Yes. Pipes will thaw on their own as the weather warms up and gets above freezing. Once it warms up, it should take a day or two for pipes to thaw. If you’re worried about your pipes bursting and warm weather isn’t coming for a few days, you should take precautions to keep your pipes as warm as possible.

A journeyman plumber is a licensed plumber with a state-issued permit who installs and repairs piping for water and heating systems under the supervision of a master plumber. Also known as a plumbing contractor, a master plumber is considered the highest level in this profession. In addition to passing all state-level requirements, master plumbers have several years of experience. They are allowed to lead teams, create blueprints, and design and install plumbing systems.
