"I worked with Sean for several years. He installed the sprinkler system at my home and serviced it for a dozen years or so. He was always prompt, thorough, and very pleasant to work with. When I sold the house I was confident that the new owner would have a system that was in excellent working order, even though it was an older system. Sean was fantastic, and I would recommend him to others withou hesitation! Price for services may have been higher than others, but having Sean do the work made the cost worth it.

Lawns questions, answered by experts

There are several ways to decompose yard waste quickly. The first step is to move all debris into a compost bin or pile. From there, microorganisms, bacteria, and insects will break down the yard waste into compost. To speed things up, shred the waste into smaller pieces, add live worms to the pile, or introduce nitrogen-rich compost accelerators like grass clippings, coffee grounds, and manure. Turn the compost over every few days. This process, called aerating, allows oxygen to get in and accelerate decomposition.

You’ll need to kill the earwigs using traps or insecticides, and then prevent them from entering your home. Make sure you fix leaks and seal up all cracks and crevices. You can use a dehumidifier to cut the moisture and drive earwigs out.

Weeds may grow back when pulled out if the root is not completely removed. Invasive weeds can regrow from just a small portion of remaining root, so using a weed-pulling tool can help ensure you remove the entire root. Weeds may grow back faster if roots aren’t fully removed, and incomplete removal could cause them to spread as well.

As we know, leaving dog poop on your lawn can cause patching and even death of your grass. But, even if your yard is hardscaped, leaving dog poop lying around is unhygienic and smelly, and it’s an invitation for kids to trail it into the house on the soles of their shoes.

Yes, you can absolutely make your own mulch, and there are a few ways to go about it. First, you can lay down pine needles or mulched leaves if you’re mulching in the fall. In the spring and summer, you can use mulched grass clippings. Alternatively, you can lay down a few layers of newspaper in your garden and gently wet the paper to keep it in place.
