Customers say: Super punctual

"Crosstown Construction was the middle bid. They were specific and thoughtful about removing the concrete floor and building up the height of the floor and a small apron to keep water out of the garage. The workers were respectful and hard-working. Erik the lead gave good advice on the changes that needed to be made on the garage door. This company was communicative and dependable. I would definitely hire them again!"

Great Lakes Garage Floors, LLC. \nWe add beauty and durability to your garage floor by restoring your floors surface using a Polyuria / Polyaspartic Full Decorative Chip System. NO not Epoxy.\nFirst we grind the entire floor to open the concrete surface to dispose of contaminants and gives the ability for the concrete to absorb the polyurea. Next we follow and grind out the cracks and pitting filling those with a 4034 Poly mender. \n Once we have restored the surface of the floor we lay down a thick coat of a pigment added polyurea which starts to meld into the concrete floor. We then quickly apply a full color chip application ( 10 Color blends to choose from ) that soaks into the pigment dyed polyurea base coat.. About 3 hours later we scrape off the extra chips which smooths out the floor a bit Lastly we apply a thick coat of the clear Polyaspartic. The biggest advantage of Polyaspartic over Epoxy is that the Polyaspartic Clear coat is UV resistant and will not yellow.

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Options include epoxy, polyurethane, and acrylic for various uses.

Yes, you can seal an old concrete floor as long as you remove stains and repair damage before sealing. Remove everything from the garage and clear the floor throughout with a concrete cleaner and power washing. Fill in cracks larger than 1/8 of an inch wide and remove all grease and rust stains before sealing. Make sure your concrete is fully dried before applying sealer.

Yes, you can seal old concrete, but proper preparation is essential. Before sealing, ensure the concrete is clean, dry, and free of any old sealant. To check if resealing is necessary, place a few drops of water on the surface; if they are absorbed in less than five minutes, it's time to reseal. If you are using the same type of sealer that was previously applied, you may not need to remove the old layer. However, if you are applying a different type of sealer, the existing one must be removed. Additionally, repair or fill any cracks to create a smooth base before you begin sealing.

Since epoxy products are hazardous to handle, it’s best to leave this job to a professional epoxy flooring contractor. These flooring professionals will have the appropriate protective gear to stay safe during the application process and will use the correct tools needed for the job. In addition, if not correctly applied, the epoxy won’t harden correctly, causing performance issues. Hire a professional epoxy flooring contractor to guarantee a smooth, even finish for your flooring.

If your concrete stains are green in color, it indicates the presence of mold or algae—which you should address right away. If left unattended, mold will spread to other areas throughout the home. However, be careful not to disturb mold on indoor concrete surfaces and work with a local mold remediation specialist for specialized care. Once free from mold and algae, seal your concrete to eliminate pores and gaps.
