"Harrison Electric, Inc completely understood my needs as a customer. I needed lights installed in an older home, not a sales song and dance. They came in, and focused specifically on what I WANTED to be done, and then provided a methodical assessment on what COULD be done in my older home. Together, then and there, we developed an installation plan that both met my needs without compromising the safety of the home, and at honest price that wasn't bloated with extra sales add-ons. I hired them on the spot, and they took care of all of my electrical needs that very same day. During the entire installation process, they were extremely respectful of my home, and periodically checked in with me to demonstrate progression of work. If you are recent homeowner, looking for an electrical company who understands efficiency of means, meaning, making minor lighting and switch updates without it costing you an arm and a leg, or bloating the quote with sales add-ons then Harrison Electric, Inc is the way to go. Highly recommend."

Hero Plumbing, Heating & Cooling has been a family tradition for over 100 years. In 1914, Harry C. Ridler started the company in South Minneapolis which led to the company name Uptown. Pete Savage worked for the Ridler family in the 1970s, and in 1982 Pete had the incredible opportunity to purchase it. In 2010, using the money they saved while Josh was in Iraq as a down payment, Sheree and Josh took out an SBA loan and purchased Hero Plumbing, Heating & Cooling from Josh’s father. At that time, Hero had 4 employees and focused on serving Minneapolis. Today, Hero has over 150 amazing men and women working with us and we’ve expanded our service area to cover the entire Twin Cities metro.

"It went extremely well; better than my expectations since I have a tendency to be skeptical about making sizable investments regarding equipment with which I am not fully familiar. Eric actually showed me what was wrong. He tested my water with a "portable lab" system, but then we went down to the basement and he literally took my softer apart and showed me the condition of the media beads - which instead of being a golden color, were coated black. He also showed me that about two cubic feet of media was missing! He checked the setting of the unit, and showed what they were versus what they should have been. Finally he showed me how difficult it was to turn the control dial which a small motor must do to cycle the unit through the flushing cycle. By the end of his visit, I was convinced I had a real problem. Eric gave me all the options, including the features and benefits of each. Even though he said I could have the unit reconditioned and have a warranty (shorter than on a new unit) on its performance, I opted for a new unit with the longer warranty and electricity free operation."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When reviewing quotes in Chaska, be wary of estimates that lack details about materials, labor, or the electrical panel work involved. Extremely low bids may signal shortcuts or unlicensed contractors. If someone avoids written agreements, skips mentioning necessary permits, or doesn’t reference recent Chaska projects, proceed with caution. Also, ensure the professional understands local utility coordination and specific city code requirements.

Helpful?

In Chaska, homes with finished basements, vaulted ceilings, or slab foundations can make accessing wiring more challenging. Split-level layouts or properties near the river may have moisture issues that affect electrical work. Historic homes might have restrictions on modifications. Always have a local expert assess your home’s structure and electrical system to identify any unique challenges before starting a project.

Helpful?

In Chaska, frequent breaker trips, buzzing outlets, or dimming lights often indicate electrical wiring issues. If you notice scorch marks or a persistent burning smell, call an electrician immediately. However, if your appliances stop working after a storm or you see water near outlets, you may need both electrical and water damage assessments, as Minnesota’s climate can cause overlapping problems.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical work in Chaska, confirm which permits are required and allow time for city approval. Arrange for utility marking if any digging is planned, and have your contractor inspect your electrical panel and wiring for code compliance. In older homes, check for potential hazards like lead or asbestos. Notify neighbors about possible outages, and plan for weather delays, especially during Minnesota winters.

Helpful?

Schedule electrical upgrades in Chaska if your home has two-prong outlets, an outdated electrical panel, or if you’re planning to add high-demand appliances. Renovations, finishing a basement, or installing an electric vehicle charger are also good times to update wiring. Homes built before 1980 in Chaska often need electrical system evaluations to meet current safety standards and handle modern power needs.
