"They cut off all of the branches that hung over my house and the dead branches. The salesman told me which branches should be removed, the man that cut them decided one of the branches that should have been cut off, shouldn't be because it looked better. That was in the fall, now that it's summer and the leaves are on the trees, that branch is hitting the boulevard tree. That was the reason it should have been cut off."

"Great fast and easy experience.  Grand Gutters replaced all of the gutters on our house and installed leaf gaurds (small 1.5 story built in 1951).  There was really no wait; they did it right away.  They provided us with lots of helpful information to make our leaf gaurd selection.  My neighbor got new gutters the week prior from another company (no gaurds) and paid over $200.00 more.

"I'd definitely work with them again.  Very transparent about costs (and the possibility of any extra costs if the existing sheathing needed to be replaced, which thankfully it didn't), great communication, and the turnaround was insane-- called to request service on Tuesday, picked out shingles with the contractor on Wednesday, Roof was complete by Thursday.  An excellent value and great experience.

"It seemed to go well.  They were able to work on Fridays and Saturdays while we were around.  We hope the work will solve some ice dam issues we've had in the past, though we won't know until we get some significant snow.
My one complaint is with their mess and lack of clean-up.  Both Matt and his helper smoke and I'm still finding cigarette butts on my property.  They also were very sloppy with their spray foam and we've had to scrape it off of various parts of our house, including areas where they did no work - must have been spilled when moving from basement to attic.  Had to clean up labels, wrappers, fasteners, etc. from my yard when they worked outside.

"I was really happy with Justin and his team. For me this was a big job and involved a lot of money and a lot of moving parts. The ceiling texturing had been poorly done so removal was not as simple as scraping popcorn ceilings. The house had many different dark colored walls so the painting over them was not a simple task either. Justin is very meticulous and thorough and his crew is polite and determined to get everything just right. I can recommend them without any hesitation whatsoever."

"Working with Greene was a great experience. They were prompt and thorough, and easy to communicate with. Damian is quick to respond to questions, and the guys on the crew kept me in the loop on things (and provided suggestions on other work, unrelated to what they were doing). They stuck to their budget, were flexible on scheduling as some other aspects of the project got shuffled around, and made the whole thing easy.

We ran in to several snags during the work - the ground had settled under the floor leaving a gap of a few inches, a several hundred pound rock was found in the corner where we wanted to place the sump basket, and more concrete had to be removed than expected."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

In most cases, it is best to leave icicles on your roof and allow them to melt naturally. You should only remove them if they are heavy enough to cause damage to your home or pose a safety risk to people below. Attempting to remove icicles yourself can be dangerous, so if you are concerned about immediate damage, it is recommended to hire a professional. To prevent icicles from recurring, you should address the underlying cause, which is often poor insulation. Long-term solutions include improving your home's insulation or installing roof heating coils.

Ice dam removal is costly, but it’s absolutely worth it. If you leave an ice dam as is and don’t take care of it, you’re looking at potentially dangerous situations and high-cost repairs—like roof collapse, leaks, mold problems, gutter damage, and more. Removing ice dams is essential to keeping your home and your family safe in the snowy season.

If a big freeze catches you by surprise and you don’t have any deicer to hand, you can reduce the chance of taking a tumble by laying gritty, anti-slip materials. Some natural, readily-available options that don’t melt ice but offer traction underfoot include sand, wood shavings, kitty litter, and fireplace ash.

Roof raking helps clear snowfall from your roof and, in turn, you hope that this prevents ice dams. But can roof raking actually cause them? Generally, no, it cannot. But you should note that while, in some cases, you might successfully prevent ice dams from forming near the edge of your roof by keeping it cleared with a roof rake, they could still form higher up on the roof, where you are unable to reach. This may leave you wondering: Does roof raking prevent ice dams? While it is not a 100% guaranteed way to prevent them, it does help.

Yes, snow should be removed from a deck to protect it from damage caused by moisture and heavy loads. Shovel the snow off of your deck regularly once it is more than four inches deep. Avoid using salt, which can damage your deck.
