"They cut off all of the branches that hung over my house and the dead branches. The salesman told me which branches should be removed, the man that cut them decided one of the branches that should have been cut off, shouldn't be because it looked better. That was in the fall, now that it's summer and the leaves are on the trees, that branch is hitting the boulevard tree. That was the reason it should have been cut off."

"Everything went extremely well! We simultaneously had our house trim painted, so Mike (Grand Gutters employee) was able to remove the old gutters before the painters got to work. This was much more difficult than anticipated, but they did the job without complaint or extra charge (which was much appreciated). Once the house was painted, John (the owner) came back to install the new gutters. He also painted and installed downspout leader boxes and decorative brackets. Overall, he was very professional and kept me up to date during the installation. We highly recommend Grand Gutter and would work with them again!

"I thought it went well. Their project manager Cristina was good to interact with and she was able to schedule in the jobs and got it done within three weeks since the contract and initial down payment was made. There was a minor issue and in that i felt the contractor could have been proactive in taking measures to color match the siding instead of relying on homeowner. After the job was done, the nails were not cleaned up completely around the house. I had a flat tire and I don't think the cause was completely based on them not completely cleaning. I would definitely hire them again.."

"

I called the next day and set up an appointment for the following Thursday. He and two other workmen (one of whom is his grandson) arrived thirty minutes late for the agreed 7:30 start, but once they arrived they worked hard and steadily until 2:30 except for a couple of smoke breaks and a short lunch break.

Before they began they laid down runners to protect the floors and stairs and covered furniture with plastic tarps. We reviewed the agreed-upon work and they began. In addition to the items we had scheduled, they also installed insulating wrap for the hot water heater which I had purchased earlier and trimmed tree branches that were touching the roof.  No extra charge.

They did a very good job of cleaning up, but with the large amount of cellulose insulation, there was residual dust to clean after they left.  This didn't bother me at all.

|All three men were cordial and responsive to questions. This company was originally recommended to me five years ago by a technician performing an energy system audit of my home. I'm hopeful that ice dams will be a thing of the past and that our home will be more comfortable and energy efficient because of this work.

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Yes, snow should be removed from a deck to protect it from damage caused by moisture and heavy loads. Shovel the snow off of your deck regularly once it is more than four inches deep. Avoid using salt, which can damage your deck.

Whether or not an annual snow removal contract is worth it depends mainly on location. If you live in an area with frequent heavy snowfall, a yearly contract could be better than paying per clearing. If you live in an area where it only snows a few times a year, paying per snowstorm may be a better option.

Using a snow blower can make removing snow easier if you have physical limitations and a large area to cover. Snow blowers can remove large amounts of snow quickly, which can also save you time. However, shoveling can be efficient for smaller areas with light snow. The method you use will depend on the specific situation and your preference. Of course, you can skip doing it yourself and stay out of the cold by hiring a snow removal company near you.

Yes, most states require that snow removal companies be insured under workers' compensation. This protects the employees financially if an injury were to happen (and when dealing with ice and snow, it’s possible that injury could occur). In addition, most states require snow removal companies to be covered under general liability, which would help cover the cost of any property damage incurred during the removal process.

In most municipalities, snow removal is compulsory in public spaces, including the sidewalk in front of your house, so you need to remove snow there. You could face fines for failure to clear your sidewalk in a timely manner—usually within 24 hours of the snowfall stopping. More importantly, your sidewalk needs to be safe for pedestrians to use, and you could face legal issues if someone slips on your sidewalk because you failed to clear it. Sidewalk removal services might seem expensive, but they’re well worth it to avoid these issues.
