Emergency services offered

"My experience from the beginning to the end was exceptional!! Dan called me back immediately after I left a message and scheduled someone to come out the very next day to do an estimate. Dustin was punctual, friendly and extremely helpful in providing suggestions and helping me envision a landscaping design. After discussing the details, Dustin was able to provide me with a quote as well as the date they could start work. I was in contact with Dustin prior to the work starting to run ideas by him and ask questions. He was always extremely patient with me and very helpful. Brooks Landscaping started work on the exact day they promised and the crew was very courteous and friendly. I was extremely involved in the process every step of the way and felt that it was important to them that I was engaged and 100% satisfied with everything. The entire project ended up taking 2 days and I was pleased that the crew cleaned up the “work site” both days. Overall they exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with the outcome. All of our neighbors have complimented us on the work and plan to contact Brooks Landscaping for their future landscaping needs! I would highly recommend them because they take pride in their work, did a fabulous job and I truly enjoyed my interaction with the entire crew."

Small jobs welcome

"I highly recommend AlexPro Property Services. They installed mulch and rock, weeded and did bed clean up. They were professional, responsive, and checked in throughout the day to make sure everything was exactly what I wanted. The team showed up on time and paid close attention to detail. Several neighbors complimented my yard afterward, and have since hired them as well. If you’re looking for a reliable and good quality landscaping company, AlexPro Property Services is the team to hire."

"Danny and the N & T crew did an excellent job landscaping around our deck and cleaning up and mulching our garden beds. They were friendly, professional, on time, creative and worked well to incorporate our ideas with some improvements. Danny communicated well with us from start to finish. We will certainly hire N & T Landscaping again."

"I contacted Browning Family Landscaping to get a quote on a complete redo of my front yard. They were quick to respond to my inquiry and came out the next day to give me an estimate. He wrote a quote on the spot and was actually able to complete the job THAT DAY! My yard looks amazing. Mr Browning was kind and respectful. He really listened to what we wanted. Landscaping questions, answered by experts

The average cost for landscaping is around $3,500, but prices can range from as low as $200 for simple DIY projects to $14,000 or more for extensive work. Several factors influence the final price, including your geographic location, yard size, project scope, chosen materials, site preparation, and the type of landscaping involved. Professional landscaper labor costs typically range from $50 to $100 per hour.

For a smaller budget, you can focus on softscaping projects like adding mulch, flowers, and shrubs, which might only cost a few hundred dollars if you do the work yourself. A budget of around $5,000 could cover projects like a simple patio, new plants and tree trimming, or a water feature. More extensive hardscaping projects, such as pergolas, patios, and walkways, can push the budget to $14,000 or more. For example, a flower bed installation averages between $800 and $3,000, while landscape lighting installation can cost from $2,000 to $6,000.

Many people have used old tires in gardens as raised beds, planters, tree rings, and DIY decor. However, these uses are not recommended due to the toxicity of many of the chemicals used to manufacture tires. These chemicals can leach into the soil and water as the tire breaks down, creating environmental pollution and health hazards for gardeners and their families.

There are some instances when you can use extra drywall in your garden. Ideally, unused scraps of new drywall are best for amending soil without the concern of additional chemicals or mold. However, drywall with paint, mold, or potential asbestos requires specialized disposal by a professional and should be kept out of your garden.

You should avoid planting grass, shrubs, plants, and trees in freezing temperatures, as the ground can get frozen and become too hard for proper root growth. It’s best to plant in the fall to allow your plants to establish root systems before the first frost. Landscaping when the average temperature in your area is between 50 and 60 degrees will usually deliver the best results.

Buying plants from a nursery is one thing, but ensuring that they are properly planted is another. While you might not need to hire a landscaper for every plant that you buy from a nursery, it’s a great idea to have their expertise and experience to plant larger items, like burlapped trees or specialty plants like rose bushes. Even better, before making a trip to a nursery to buy new plants, consult a local landscaper to test your soil for pH levels, soil texture, and phosphorus and potassium levels to help determine the best plants for your area.
