"Mike was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and did an EXCELLENT job with the installation of the "original hidden pet fence!" I am very grateful that Mike called me back right away and that he was able to come out sooner than I expected. I've finally got peace of mind for my puppy, Ziggy! Thank you Mike!"

"Mike came out to check out problem with an existing fence same day I called him. He squeezed us into his busy schedule and was here after hours putting in all new wire for my failed dog fence that was from another company. He diagnosed problem and did exactly what he said he was going to do. He is polite, knowledgeable and very hard working. Price was reasonable for the amount of hard work him and his partner had to do. I would strongly recommend this company."

"Fantastic. Derek was very easy to communicate with. His demeanor is professional, and his work is efficient, skillful and extremely tidy. I felt he was well organized and very pleasant to have around. He talked with me directly about areas of concern and made sure I was comfortable with the final result. His team was excellent as well. I will be calling Rocking Improvements first for all of my future projects."

Animal Fencing FAQs, answered by experts

You should never use toxic baits or poisons, such as rodenticides designed for mice and rats, to kill or trap possums. Using these toxicants is illegal in many areas and can lead to fines or other penalties. Furthermore, these poisons can cause unnecessary suffering for the animal and pose a significant risk of accidental poisoning to pets or other neighborhood wildlife. Instead of using poisons, it is best to stick with humane methods like live trapping.

Skunks are nocturnal creatures, meaning they are primarily active at night, particularly around dusk and dawn. Their activity levels increase as the weather warms up, and they are generally dormant or inactive during the winter. Skunks are especially active during the spring months when they are foraging for fresh food and seeking mates. While they are typically not seen during the day, daytime activity is possible if a skunk is having trouble finding food, has babies to care for, or is severely ill.

Moles breed once a year, marking March on their calendars as peak season. However, their breeding season can start as early as February and wrap up in May. Their gestation period is 4 weeks, with litters ranging from 2 to 6 little ones. They are considered all grown up by the three-month mark, making them ready for parenthood.

Scented mouse deterrents, like peppermint oil, can be effective in the short term. The pungent smells may temporarily repel mice, but they lose effectiveness as the scent fades or mice get used to it. The main drawbacks are frequent reapplication and the fact that these deterrents don't address the root cause of the infestation, such as entry points or food sources. While they can be part of a broader strategy, scented deterrents alone are rarely enough to eliminate a mouse problem.

A treatment from a pest control service can last anywhere from 3 to 6 months, depending on the type of treatment, what pest it’s treating, and what environment you live in. This is why pest control service companies often offer packages where they come out multiple times a year to apply treatment to the outside or inside of your home.
