"Levi and crew did a wonderful job of installing a privacy fence on my back patio. I could not be happier with the work performed and the price was more than reasonable."

"From start to finish, Aiden and his team were communicative, clear, and thorough. They repaired our wooden fence, installed a double and single gate, and seeded the yard. We were very pleased with the work they did. Aiden was always very responsive to texts and calls, and was very sure to make sure all of our needs were met. When asked about the various jobs, he was very sure to talk through the whole project to make sure that all parties were on the same page. I would certainly recommend Aiden and his crew, and would re-hire them ourselves for any future work. He also threw in cleaning our gutters at no charge."

"Carlson maintenance company was a pleasure to work with. Charles was professional and his quote was very reasonable. He was able to complete my fence in a day and we were satisfied with the quality of work. He even offered to come back if there were unforseen issues. I would highly recommend him."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a picket fence largely depends on its material. Wooden picket fences typically last 10 to 15 years with regular maintenance, while vinyl and composite picket fences can last 20 to 30 years or more due to their resistance to weather, rot, and pests. Metal picket fences often exceed 30 years, especially when properly coated to prevent rust or corrosion.

You'll pay less on average for the cost of a wooden fence compared to aluminum. However, the price highly depends on the type of wood, the fence design, and extra additions like gates and coats of paint. For example, you may pay less to install an aluminum fence since the panels anchor in the ground, whereas wood fences often take longer to construct, especially picket fences.

The most common hog wire gauge for a fence is 12.5. However, you can choose from a few gauges based on your needs. While 12.5 is a reliable gauge for penning in large, strong animals, 9 gauge is a better option of you have large animals that are easily spooked, such as horses. For smaller animals, like dogs or pigs, you can use a 16 gauge hog wire.

There is no best color for a vinyl fence, as it truly depends on a homeowner’s aesthetic preference. Classic white is the most popular and widely available of all the vinyl fence colors. However, contemporary black, warm browns, and natural grays are becoming more mainstream. One perk of darker-colored fences is that they are easier to “keep clean,” as in, dirt and debris don’t show up as easily as they would on lighter-colored fences. So if you don’t plan to give your fence regular washings, a dark color like black, gray, or brown would be the best choice.

The best way to protect your pets from coyotes is to ensure they are always supervised when outside, especially during dawn and dusk when coyotes are the most active. When walking your dog, keep it on a short leash and carry something noisy you can use to haze any coyotes you may encounter.
