"Helen contacted me the same day I posted this job on Angi. Her estimate was aligned with few others that I received. They were available within my timelines and did a good job with removing the tree/stump. However, one of the sprinkler lines was cut and big stones around the tree were not put back in place, as agreed upon. It took more than a week for Helen to send the crew back to move stones back in place (at extra cost to also remove wood chips from stump grinding, which was not included in the original fee). I recommend specifying all details around the job (based on tree location and extra work around its removal) and confirming everything is done as agreed upon before final payment is made."

"We had a grove full of dead trees falling over in between healthier trees and thick brush. looked like death. it was a huge job. Jeremy and his crew were the most kindest, understood my concern of animals maybe in there and hardworking. They take pride in their work. Now we have an accessible, beautiful space we can walk around in and good trees can breathe. Recommend them highly and would use them again for our other acreage. It's improved the look of our property 100%!! Thank you all!"

"Eric is very responsive and was quick to bid and complete the job. He is very friendly and helpful in explaining options, pros, cons, and the process along the way. I appreciate that Eric quickly did the job as estimated, and when we ran into additional required work to make the drain system work properly, he gave me a quote, went to get the additional required parts, and finished the job the same day so my underground gutters would be working in time for the predicted rainstorm. Definitely recommend!"

"They were very professional and efficient. It was a large lot around a house with lots of tree and shrub stumps. It was done quickly, they cleaned up and were on their way. I received an email later with an invoice and a link to pay online! Very easy and convenient!"

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

Remove household junk, construction debris, yard waste, and old appliances.

Digging a bush up by the roots is the most natural DIY method for removing a bush stump. Start by identifying the shrub type and revealing its roots. Cut the shrub to its base and loosen the soil, ensuring no utility lines are nearby. Optionally, treat the base with herbicide, then dig around the roots and cut a circle around the shrub using various tools. Dig a trench, cut the base of the root ball, and finally fill the hole to prevent regrowth. This thorough process ensures complete removal without damaging surrounding areas.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

In general, you can prune up to one third of the height of most shrubs without damaging them. There are a few exceptions to this rule: Pine shrubs, for example, can’t be trimmed below the point of new growth without damaging them.

A pre-emergent herbicide is the most effective way to avoid stickers growing in your yard. However, if some manage to make it through, a post-emergent herbicide is the most effective way to kill them. However, environmental concerns exist when using chemicals on a lawn. Try vinegar or baking soda applications to kill sticker plants for a more natural yet still effective method.
