"I had a drywall guy stand me up, so I called H&K. The boss sent two guys out within an hour and finished my job for me. He even called the next day to make sure I was satisfied."

We have a great crew that knows how to get work done in a timely matter. We also subcontract work out when we are busy Ower bill is depending on the size of the job half down balance at the end or if its a large job then we will split it in quarter payments

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

When you insulate ductwork, you help protect the air moving through the system from external conditions and keep it sealed within the ducts. This makes your HVAC system more efficient since it doesn’t have to work as hard to heat or cool your home. Insulation can help lower your energy bills and prevent problems like condensation and mold formation inside your ducts.

Unfaced wall insulation is easier to cut and install, making it the better choice for a DIY project. It’s also more affordable. But if it’s unfaced, you’ll likely need to add a vapor barrier to reach your desired R-value and efficiency, as it doesn’t offer any moisture barrier.

Faced insulation uses paper or foil to create a built-in barrier and doesn’t require an extra step. It’s also more fire-resistant and safe. But it’s quite a bit more expensive and a little bit harder to work with as a DIYer.

Insulation can be made of cellulose, fiberglass, polyurethane, polystyrene, or mineral wool. Radiant barriers are often made of aluminum or other similarly reflective materials, but they will need to be paired with something else because they don’t provide heating benefits. Cellulose is among the most eco-friendly options and may be recycled when it’s past its shelf-life, whereas polyurethane and polystyrene both emit harmful compounds and will need to be handled with care during installation.

The primary downside of radiant barriers is their limited effectiveness in cold climates. They are designed to reflect radiant heat, making them less beneficial in cooler conditions where heat retention is more important.

Radiant barriers require proper installation to maximize effectiveness. Incorrect placement can lead to minimal benefits. They also do not provide insulation, meaning they should be used in conjunction with traditional insulation for optimal energy efficiency.

A dehumidifier can reduce condensation on your ductwork by lowering humidity levels in the air. Condensation occurs when humid, warm air makes contact with cold ducts. A dehumidifier can help maintain your home's indoor humidity below or around 50%, minimizing moisture buildup. However, if condensation is caused by leaks, cracks, or other damage, a dehumidifier won’t solve the problem.
