"Excellent service which provided outstanding results. Computer was running so slow my wife wanted me to buy another computer. Using Angies List I was able to find this company who I called right away. I made arrangements to drop off my laptop on Friday night and was able to pick it back up Sunday afternoon. Took it home and it runs just like the day i bought it. James loaded virus protection software which works better than the software I bought. Very goodexperience, i will use him again. "
"It turned out pretty well. There's a little bit of miscommunication when it came to what the promotion included from on their end. Other than that, it's been wonderful. We paid extra because we have a couple more windows and doors than their general that they cover so we had to purchase a couple of extras. They were very helpful about setting it up very easily. They sent us a new sensor because one wasn't working properly. It was a very good experience."
"Hunter did a beautiful job on cleaning the windows in our home and cabins. We were very impressed by how efficient he was and how clean our windows and screens are. I love looking outside through the clean and shiny windows. The cost for cleaning was very reasonable. We couldnâ t be happier. Thanks Hunter!!"
"We used our Choice Warranty plan to cover a repair to our furnace. I switched to Choice from American Home Shield, and while the deductible is a little more than AHS, the monthly plan cost is $30 cheaper. This is my first claim, and it was fantastic! I had issues many times with AHS with their timeliness and the ability to receive condition reports from technicians, so this first experience was a relief! First, I submitted my claim online, and while AHS would sometimes reach out, Choice connected me directly to a professional who reached out to me about my issue. Because of this, I did not waste my time explaining the issue to someone who is not a heating or A/C expert and only dealt with an expert. Next, they assigned my claim to Greg's Heat & A/C, and he contacted me directly about the problem. He listened to my issue before coming out and provided an actual time of arrival. Choice provides a window in which to be present. I usually do not like these as it will cause someone to miss some work, but since Greg called and gave a time, I did not have to miss much work at all! Greg showed up on time and repaired the issue quickly and in a professional manner! I will utilize and request him for all my futuristic issues regarding these areas of my home, even if they do not meet the claim submission guidelines! Thank you for a five-start first experience!"
"Over the years we feel like we have gotten value from this service, however, there are constraints on that value. They have replaced dishwashers and air conditioners etc. for us when ours have died. They replace one for one - equal quality for equal quality. We have been allowed to upgrade (by paying the difference) to better replacements and then they have covered those new replacements. All in all, it has worked for us. Here is why they don't get a better rating from us. They obviously negotiate deals with repair/replacement providers which means you are not high priority for these providers which is reflected in their responsiveness to your needs. This past few years, it appears like they are far more reluctant to replace equipment. As an example we have two 18 year old air conditioners that break down at least twice a season. For the past three seasons it seems as if they have practically rebuilt the things vs. just declaring them dead. Each time there is a service call, we pay $75 so it has begun to add up. Today, (Saturday) our hot water heater began delivering rusty water and when we checked it, we saw that it has apparently been leaking for awhile and so is likely close to bursting. In my mind this is an emergency. AHS (who heard the whole story0 called a company which called me right a way but the earliest they could get someone out was Tuesday. This is the absolute maximum time window in our AHS agreement (48 hours - business days). It didn't matter that between now and then we could have 60 gallons of water flood our house. I called AHS and asked for another provider. They first suggested that we shut the water to the house off (really?) but they did contact another, who did not bother to call back (they were open at the time of contact). My husband and I went to Angie's List and called one of the A rated companies. Long story short is they were here within an hour and we will have a new hot water heater today. "
Yes, it is generally better and more cost-effective to replace all your windows at once. Contractors often lower the per-window labor and material costs for larger projects, saving you money in the long run. Installers may also quote a flat rate for overhead, making multiple small jobs more expensive than one large one.
Replacing all windows simultaneously offers other advantages:
Aesthetics and Home Value: It creates a cohesive style and uniform energy efficiency, which is appealing to potential home buyers.
Efficiency: The entire replacement process, which can take several weeks, is completed in a single, more efficient project.
However, replacing all windows requires a significant upfront investment. While you can replace just a few windows, experts recommend replacing at least five to eight at a time to avoid high overhead costs. An exception is when a single window is damaged; in that case, it can be replaced on its own.
There are a few reasons your crank windows might not close. First, determine if your window crank is working properly and opening and closing the window when you turn it. If it’s not, the crank may need replacing, cleaning, or lubricating. Another reason your windows aren’t closing could be dirt and debris in the window hinges or sash. Finally, make sure your window lock operator is set in the unlocked position and isn’t blocking the window from fully closing. If you’re still having trouble closing your window, it may be worth consulting a local window contractor.
New window installation costs range from $300 to $1,500 per window, depending on size, material, and energy efficiency features.
Your new windows may let in more noise than your old windows because they are not the right size or they were installed improperly. Improper installation, or choosing windows that are too small for the opening, can create gaps around the window that let in noise.
Another factor could be the STC and OITC ratings. If your new windows have lower ratings than your old windows, this means they have lower performance when it comes to dampening noise from the outdoors.
Most properly installed and maintained windows last between 15 and 20 years. Fiberglass windows last much longer than your average window. Since they don’t warp from temperature changes, rust, or rot, you might be able to hold onto fiberglass windows for up to 40 years. On the other hand, poorly maintained wood windows may only last for a few years.
