"James is a real pro you came to my house with a mask on put on paper shoes so you would not damage my carpet and had my smart nest thermostat installed within 30 minutes up and running. I would never hesitate to hire him again. Very polite"

"Sweetwater Electric installed my Generac whole house generator. Part way through the installation, we discovered a problem with the landscaping and placement of the generator. Sweetwater was patient while we worked out the issue and resumed work the day after the landscaper left. Alan and Thomas worked well together as a team and finished the installation without a problem. I would highly recommend them for your Generac, or general electrical, work. They are conscientious, hardworking, amenable and clean up after the job is complete. What more could you ask for?"

"Todd was fantastic to work with.  He does great work at a reasonable price.  My bathroom looked terrific after the tub and tile installation that Todd performed.  He takes his time, does things right, and is a very personable person to deal with.  I would highly recommend his services.  One thing that I really liked is how they waterproofed the shower area prior to the tile installation. This was a differentiator from other contractors that I spoke with prior to hiring Todd.  I was very impressed overall.

"Jessica and her team are a wonderful group to work with. If one member of her team is unable to complete the job another member jumps right in and seamlessly completes the job. My husband and I are delighted with the end result of the painting and wallpaper removal.
Jessica's team also removed my old deck and installed a new deck promptly, efficiently, and beautifully! I expected professional and friendly service and not only did I receive it, I feel confident in contracting with them again in the future.
Thanks!!

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Absolutely! Keeping up to date with regular flea treatments for pets, washing their bedding, and vacuuming regularly are all simple and inexpensive ways to help prevent a flea infestation from developing in the first place.

Annual flea control treatments for your pet typically cost between $40 and $200. Talk to your vet about safe and effective options.

Keeping up with garden maintenance also helps make your yard less inviting for fleas. Mow your lawn regularly, don’t overwater, and avoid attracting rodents by carefully storing food waste, removing clutter, and sealing holes.

Even if you have extreme ophidiophobia (fear of snakes), don’t try to shoot or kill them with a shovel. Besides being pretty cruel, killing snakes in most states is illegal unless your life is at risk and many species are protected.

Plus, you're putting yourself at greater risk using these techniques if it goes wrong and the now-angry snake is venomous.

As you know, mice adore peanut butter, but who doesn’t? Beyond that sandwich staple, rodents are drawn to berries, grains, seeds, meat, and, yes, even cheese. They also eat pet food in a pinch and feast on plant materials, leftovers, and anything in the trash. In other words, mice aren’t picky.

The best way to deal with a rodent problem is to avoid it in the first place. One way to do that is to make your home smell uninviting to them. Here are some household products that can repel rodents. When using oils, try soaking a cotton ball in the stuff and leaving it in places rodents frequent:

  • Peppermint oil

  • Eucalyptus oil

  • Cinnamon

  • Vinegar

  • Cedarwood

  • Cloves

  • Garlic

  • Chili oil/powder

  • Cayenne pepper

Bed bugs are highly sensitive to heat, so a hot blast with a hairdryer can draw them out of hiding. Providing a source of warmth, such as a heating pad or hot-water bottle, can attract and lure them out. Bed bug monitors and traps with pheromones can also be effective.
