"New Image Remodeling was great! They stayed within the price quoted. Every one of the workers that entered our home to work were extremely polite, they were on time, and they did the job quickly and did it well. The floor looks great! We would definitely hire New Image Remodeling again!"

"After many quotes and much deliberation we decided to hire Premier Home Pros for our tub to walk-in shower remodel. So glad we did. Kevin, our installer, arrived promptly and worked diligently throughout the entire install. He was a professional and a true expert in his craft. From start to finish we were very impressed and would recommend Premier Home Pros and Kevin to anyone interested in remodeling their bathroom."

"The men who did the remodel were great. Even when they had to go back to the base to get shower doors because they were not in the materials. One stayed and did more while the other got the doors. The salesman was nice but wasnâ  t prepared with the materials he needed. I do like my shower though no more fear of falling, climbing over the tub."

"Worked with Roland Colonna, Senior Design Consultant. I was a full-time farmer and have a lot of experience with building. We recently purchased a new condo and need the lower walkout level finished. I have worked with and know a lot of builders, including our latest one and am very happy with and appreciate the expertise and honesty of Roland. There are a lot of builders who do not know the building requirements and have the knowledge of the materials used for projects like this so I was very surprised with his expertise. Also, just as important was the no-pressure sales, fully disclosed cost analysis of each and every product and project, and explanations of the various types of trim, flooring, doors, etc. (with pictures). I don't want to seem like I am embellishing here but if you want your basement done, definitely contact this company."

Remodel Design questions, answered by experts

Hiring a contractor with knowledge about historic renovations and reviewing their previous work is important. You can find a historic home renovation contractor by calling your local historic preservation office, historical society, or any local historic museums nearby. The staff may have suggestions for specialized contractors who have worked for them. You can also ask them about historic home restorations that you have seen and liked in your area to get recommendations for pros.

The average build timeline for a home is between six and 12 months, with timelines pushing toward the upper end of that range if you’re creating a custom design or need a lot of land preparation before getting started. Hiring a general contractor or a custom homebuilder will help speed up the process, as you’ll see fewer delays between different parts of the build process getting done.

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.

Yes, professionals offer custom designs, including lattice tops and decorative post caps.

The longest part of building a custom home is the design phase. It takes multiple professionals and a ton of work to bring your vision for your dream home to life while sticking to a homebuilding budget and also ensuring everything is built to code. Expect the design phase for a custom home build to take six months to a year.
