"WaterWork Plumbing is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!!! I have worked with many contractors over the years, in my professional career as well as in my private life, and I would put WaterWork Plumbing up as one of the best. Kenny was the plumber from WaterWork Plumbing that came to my home. He installed a hose bibb, and then I asked him to recheck recent plumbing work that I was concerned hadn’t been done correctly in the kitchen and bathroom. Thank goodness I did, otherwise I would have incurred water leaks under my kitchen sink in no time and he also corrected issue that I was having with toilet flushing. Kenny was kind and knowledgeable. He also was respectful of my home and put down fresh clean tarps over my white carpeting and cleaned up everything. WaterWork Plumbing are fair in their pricing and charge by the hour. Right after Kenny left, I immediately called his company and asked to speak to the owner, and I shared with him what an exemplary employee Kenny was and how grateful I was to have found their company. THANK YOU WATERWORK PLUMBING!! Thank you angi.com and all of you who have taken time to write reviews."

"LP had the flood in 8/2020 & my basement wouldn't stop backing up for 4 weeks. I had 3 plumbers come and couldn't fix it, told me my backyard needed to be dug up, furnace needed to be moved. HA referred Bill, he immediately called on a Sunday, scheduled me for Monday, diagnosed the problem and fixed it on Tues. Bill & his crew, were the best. After dealing with so many plumbers, I was very emotional & he was patient, kind & made sure I fully understood the problem & how they were going to fix it. It wasnt what all the other plumbers said, it was a broken pipe & I am glad he was a decent person not trying to take advantage of people in trouble. I really appreciate Bill and Louis, All Drains. They were prompt, professional, knowledgeable, but most of all they were kind while I was falling apart. Thank you so much!!!!!! Shavonne"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Watch for rust-colored water or reduced pressure in older Flat Rock homes, indicating severe galvanized pipe corrosion. A sump pump running continuously warns of impending basement flooding near the Huron River. Slow drains and gurgling fixtures point to underground lines stressed by expanding clay soils. Sudden water pressure changes indicate main service line issues, while white mineral deposits on basement walls signal chronic moisture intrusion that requires immediate attention.

Helpful?

Choose copper and CPVC for interior supply lines, alongside PVC and ABS for drain systems, to meet state codes. Because Flat Rock municipal water has moderate hardness, copper and PEX perform exceptionally well against scale buildup. You must use frost-rated, insulated materials for any exterior or crawl space plumbing to withstand cold MI winters. Additionally, state law requires all fixtures and solder in potable water systems to be completely lead-free.

Helpful?

Thorough plumbing work in Flat Rock will always have a closed permit and a passed inspection on record. Proper installations must align with the Michigan Plumbing Code, featuring correct pipe sizing, venting, and trap configurations. You should also verify that a state-licensed contractor completed the job. Finally, correctly installed plumbing will leave your municipal water clear and tasting normal, showing no discoloration after the project wraps up.

Helpful?

Previous plumbing work requires a redo if Flat Rock municipal records show no permits were pulled for the project. Mismatched fittings, improper venting, and missing cleanouts all indicate non-compliant, unlicensed work. You must replace any discovered lead pipe segments to meet strict Michigan health standards. Additionally, a professional will need to correct improper sump pump discharges routed into the sanitary sewer and fix any cross-connections between potable and non-potable water systems.

Helpful?

Schedule preventive plumbing tasks in late summer or early fall before MI temperatures drop below freezing. You should prioritize sump pump inspections in late winter to prepare for heavy spring snowmelt. If your Flat Rock home dates back to the mid-century, arrange an assessment for aging galvanized steel or early copper pipes. After a harsh winter, inspect your exterior water lines for damage caused by seasonal ground movement and frost heave.
