"The good news is the basement is dry. The bad news is the mess and cleanup that they left. We were told to that they would be out to install new cedar base boards and cleanup the the dust and dirty walls. They damaged walls during the installation process. They stated thsat they would be out on Sepytember 30, 2020 and they called to move the appointment to October 13, 2020. On the day of the apointment they called to canel the appointment and offered $700 to pay for the repairs and cleanup. The total bill to cleanup was more than $6,000. I would not recommend this company because they renig on their promices and do not complete the work."

Member in good standing with the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors since 2004. Accepting cash, check, major credit cards First time home buyer, veteran, senior citizen, and condo discounts available.

"Besides Mark being soft spoken and hard to hear things were going as I expected. My wife and I were there with our baby. Mark came in to give us our report and payed no attention to our son. Upon moving towards us, he walks right into our 10 month old child and kicked him in the head with his shin. Thankfully our son is okay but Mark acted like it was no big deal and laughed it off while our son was screaming and very scared. When our well water needed to be retested, we were charged again... I wouldn't even be mad because that would be expected but after you kick my kid, I would expect some cost savings."

Wells and Pumps questions, answered by experts

The disadvantages of having a well include more maintenance, like annual testing and inspections, and high up-front costs to drill a well. Well water is also vulnerable to contamination, which is why keeping up with testing is important if you own a well. When it comes to well water versus city water, well water does offer more independence and is a reliable water source.

Although air in your water lines won’t affect the overall quality of your water, it will lead to problems with your well water system if not addressed. Over time, too much air in your water lines can create blockages in your pipes, cause insufficient water flow to your taps and appliances, loosen pipes, and potentially damage important components of your well including your well pump and pressure tank.

When considering the price of drilling a well, factor in how much you’ll save in water costs per year. The average family of four uses 100 gallons of water per person per day in the U.S. With a private water well, you can save hundreds each year.

Wells are also environmentally friendly. You don’t need to worry about drinking water treated with chemicals. Talk to at least three well pump contractors in your area. They’ll be able to tell you more about your options, give you different quotes, and discuss the biggest concerns.

The costs depend on whether you are buying into an existing well or starting from scratch. The average well drilling cost is between $25 and $60 per foot. The average cost to repair a well is between $350 and $1500. If you have a shared agreement and a community association, there will be additional legal and administrative fees.

A leaking well pipe is quite different from if the well itself is leaking. To seal a leaking well, pour a cement mixture or bentonite into the space between the well casing and the borehole wall. The heavier cement collects at the bottom to form a solid seal, pushing lighter materials like mud and fluids up toward the surface. Professional well installation companies have the equipment to do this properly.
