"Review by Bob D. Ypsilanti Project: Convert hybrid pool to vinyl liner Very professional from the office staff to the workers in the field. Calls and/or emails answered either immediately or within 24 hours. This was not an easy job and many other pool company's did not even want to deal with it. I would definitely hire this company again"

"Mike was awesome. Price was competitive and he squeezed us in right in the midst of all the COVID chaos! We asked to be completed by July 4th, and they were filling the pool on the 3rd! Just in time for our family gathering! The finished product is absolutely gorgeous and both Mike and all his guys were just so nice and conscientious. As the people at the tile store said, â there are a lot of crooks in the pool business, but you got one of the nicest guys!â Thanks so much, Mike!"

In addition to Angie's list, we talked to another customer who recommended Gecko painting company to us. Here is where I would like to advise people to look at the entire list of service providers before making a selection. There are excellent providers located throughout the listings. I called, left a brief message listing the kind of work I wanted to have done, and waited for a response. Jeff returned my call, set up a meeting time and showed up on time. He listened, made suggestions, and wrote up an estimate of the total costs. Jeff told us to make up a component list of materials: paint colors, fixtures, faucet and vanity etc. Jeff took our list and picked up and delivered all of the items to our home which helped to minimize confusion and to maintain an accurate record of the actual cost of everything we needed for the job.
On day one of the project he showed up on time, covered our wood floors with plastic to protect the finish, and started the removal of the old stuff. Good housekeeping was practiced from beginning to end, they cleaned up every day, and were relatively quiet.
The job was completed ahead of schedule and below cost. How did it go? Outstandingly well!

The end result looks sensational. My daughter-in-law approves and will be using Gecko painting in her home as well. My wife and I are planning future projects and we will definitely call on Gecko painting again.

"It was great, the pool technician was very helpful and kept us updated on what repairs were needed. He followed up after his visit to ensure we knew the next steps. 10/10 would have this technician again."

FAQs for pool construction and installation projects in Carleton, MI

The average cost of an above-ground pool is between $1,100 and $5,700. Costs will vary depending on the type of pool you install. The low end of the price range includes a DIY kit for around $800 and goes up to about $15,000 for a custom pool with extra features like a deck and water features. Building an above-ground pool is much faster than installing an inground one. The cost tends to be much lower for an above-ground pool than for an inground pool because there’s less labor involved, especially when it comes to excavation and running plumbing and electrical lines.

Installing an inground pool costs around $55,000, on average. The typical price range is between $39,000 and $70,000, depending on the size and type of pool and accessibility of the site. This project requires an experienced pool installation contractor as the project usually involves extensive excavation, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and careful grading of the concrete or pavers around the pool.

Adding a spa to a pool is worth it if you use it enough. Adding a built-in spa to an inground pool can cost between $15,000 and $20,000, on top of installing the pool. A separate hot tub costs between $5,000 and $8,000. These prices will vary depending on the hot tub's size, type, and features. Additional costs include maintenance, electricity, and plumbing.

From start to finish, building an inground pool takes anywhere from two to four months. Factors that impact time to completion include any weather delays, material delays or shortages, scheduling conflicts, and any unforeseen challenges. The project may take most of the pool season, depending on where you live. Because of this, it’s a good idea to start getting estimates and finding a qualified pool company at least a year before your anticipated installation. Spring and summer is the busy season for pool contractors, which impacts their availability as projects are typically booked for several weeks if not months.
