"We had an excellent experience working with Joe Lane last spring, when we hired him and his team to make some repairs to our small cabin on the ledge of a steep mountain. Joe gave us a very reasonable estimate, which he stuck with. He also worked with us to find the best time of year to get his truck and materials up the steep slope, and was great about staying in communication with us throughout the process. We asked him to convert the cabins small attic into a loft, with a ladder/stairs to get up there and a new window. The results were beyond what we were expecting - the finished product was absolutely stunning, and completely transformed the whole space. The quality of the work was exceptional, the communication was great, and Joe and his brother and dad were lovely to work with. I cant recommend this company highly enough."

"The crew that was sent over to do the job were very professional. I went out to watch them work a couple of times and that's just what they did. No one was on their phones and there was no fooling around. They had a job to do and that was exactly what they were doing. I would recommend Long Roofing to anyone who needs to have a roof replaced. "Where do I begin? I hired this company to build me a deck off of my kitchen area. It’s so pretty. I spend all of my time out there. They did such an amazing job we had them install new vinyl siding and an asphalt shingle roof for us as well. They were so helpful with the deck design. We are having them come back to redo our master bathroom!"

"The team at Capital has been truly wonderful to work with. Jim Sakkos helped educate me on my different options, and worked with me to find one that suited my budget and taste. The vinyl siding was done quickly, the team was polite and tidy, and my house looks amazing now. The team is responsive to any and all concerns. The warranty is amazing, as well."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Cracked mortar, loose bricks, water damage, and efflorescence (white powdery deposits) are common problems.

While vinyl is the less expensive option, composite siding has been known to be more durable than vinyl. In addition, because it is made from recycled materials, it is a more ecologically-friendly choice. Composite siding is also more luxurious looking and comes in a much wider range of styles and colors.

Wood siding requires an air gap behind it to allow water to drain out, and for air circulation and venting to allow humid air to escape and keep the material from rotting due to moisture.

A self-etching primer is the best option for aluminum siding. These are specifically designed to bond with bare metals, among other surfaces, leading to better adhesion and corrosion resistance. An oil-based primer is a good alternative if you can’t find a self-etching primer.

The most significant benefit to mixing siding styles is the visual appeal and intrigue you can create. Multiple colors or textures will make your home stand out, boosting curb appeal and home value. Mixing siding styles also lets you take advantage of the high resale value of stone without having to pay the high cost of covering your entire home with it. Coupling stone and vinyl means pairing affordability and value. Plus, you’ll often only have to pay for a partial siding replacement when it comes time to replace one of the materials.
