"Professional. Timely. Fair and honest. Good communication. Team was fantastic and hard working -- I saw them take a lunch break and that was about it! People were working nearly all the time they were on site. I am very happy! Also, I live on Islesboro which means John and his team worked according to a ferry schedule. This was never a problem and I was always informed about arrival, departure and adjustments necessary due to the ferry schedule."

Customers say: True professional

"My rental property looked like a horror show until I hired Bellevue construction company to scrape and paint my whole house. What a great job they did. So easy to work with and their price was cheaper than the other 2 companies I got quotes from. I would highly recommend this company to anyone."

"The contractors were very polite and easy to talk to throughout the entire project. They clearly explained what they were doing and why, which made the process easy to understand. The quality of their work was excellent, and they came fully prepared with all the tools needed to do the job right. While they were on the higher-priced tier, the workmanship, communication, and professionalism made it well worth the cost"

Siding questions, answered by experts

Vinyl log siding is durable, rot-resistant, colorfast, and scratch-resistant, and it can last for an average of around 30 years. Some vinyl siding can last for up to 60 years with proper maintenance. You won’t need to repaint or restain this type of siding every several years like you would with wood, so ongoing costs and upkeep will be minimal. Although it’s relatively low maintenance, you should still wash your vinyl log siding twice per year. Doing so will increase its longevity, remove any mold, and retain your home’s curb appeal.

Wood siding requires an air gap behind it to allow water to drain out, and for air circulation and venting to allow humid air to escape and keep the material from rotting due to moisture.

Many modern homes have soffits, but older ones don’t, and you may be wondering why. Older homes have eaves that extend further beyond the home and help to circulate air, negating the need for a soffit. This style of building has faded away, therefore, modern homes need separate soffit installation. Modern soffits are more efficient than this older style and require less material to construct, saving homeowners money.

Yes, vertical and horizontal siding both come in the same materials, including wood, vinyl, aluminum, and engineered wood. The material you choose can significantly affect your siding’s overall price, lifespan, insulation properties, and maintenance costs.

The best siding to cover brick is vinyl or metal siding. Vinyl is low maintenance and affordable, while metal is highly durable and offers some of the best insulation on top of brick. Fiber cement is another great option. Though you can install wood siding on top of brick, it’s not as ideal.
